How to Hide Roots & Gray Hair

Transcript

I wanted to teach you today a great couple of tips for fighting grays, hiding grays, and hiding roots. The number one thing that you can do to hide both roots and specifically gray roots would be to add volume or height to the hair. So the worst thing that you can do is just have super slick straight hair. If that means that you naturally have straight hair, I would start to add a little bit of a curl or a wave to it. Even invest in some hot rollers or Velcro rollers just to give you a little bit of lift at the root, because once you lift that root, it takes your two roots that you have and puts them together and hides them behind the color that you want exposed.

Another really great thing to do would be to switch your part. Especially you gray ladies; sometimes, you are more gray on one side than you are on the other. So if you have never thought of that, test it out. It happens a lot of the times. And the reason is, gray is not just hereditary; it’s environmental. So wherever you tend to get more environmental exposure, you’re going to get more grays.

Another thing that you can do would be to take a dry shampoo and mist that in the roots. This is going to give you instant texture and lift, really helping you to hide those roots. And just massage that in, giving you a good little lift at the root. Flip up all the rest of the hair, too, so you have nice big full hair.

And those are some of my tips for hiding gray roots, or roots.
