How to Make Seashell Crafts

Instructions

  • Step 1: Pour sand into jar Make your own beach in a bottle by pouring sand through a funnel into a clean, dry, empty glass jar.
  • TIP: Use enough sand to cover the bottom of the jar.
  • Step 2: Place shells inside jar Drop the shells and pebbles inside the jar.
  • Step 3: Glue shells on lid Use a glue gun to attach large shells to the lid. Put the lid on once the glue dries.
  • Step 4: Place on work area Make a decorative shell pot by placing a medium-sized clay pot in your work area and paint it.
  • TIP: Choose one or a variety of your favorite colors to paint the pot.
  • Step 5: Glue shells Attach shells around the rim with epoxy.
  • Step 6: Brush on acrylic paint Give the shells a shine by brushing them with a thin layer of pearl acrylic paint.
  • FACT: As of 2009, the oldest message in a bottle was at sea for 92 years and 229 days. It was released on April 25, 1914, and recovered on December 10, 2006.
