How to Hide Your Natural Eyebrows for Drag Queen Makeup

Transcript

Hi, my name’s Kenneth Llambelis. I’m one of the head makeup artists at Abracadabra Superstore in the heart of New York City. You can find out more about me and the store Abracadabra at www.abracadabrasuperstore.com.

For this look, we’ll be working on doing a drag look. One of the most important things for any drag queen is getting the proper eyebrow. One of the top used products for most drag queens is the purple washable Elmer’s glue stick. I’m gonna start of by brushing his brow hair up and out, and starting off with a thin layer. Just gonna brush it back down. And then add another coat. After you have the first coat sown, you’re gonna want to powder it just to speed up the drying process. Tap off the excess. And graze it over the brows. After you have the first layer done, you’re gonna now wanna start layering up a little bit more. Just take a little sliver of the glue off. You can use your fingernail or a metal spatula. And then work your way out. The reason most drag queens prefer using the purple washable glue stick is because when it dries, it turns clear, so you’ll know when it’s ready to apply another coat. So your goal with this is to get a smooth texture surface over where the brow sits. And then just powder that with more powder. So once the Elmer’s glue on your brows has dried — it usually takes arounds two to four minutes — you’re gonna wanna take a really light-colored concealer and then do another layer over that. So you’ve got your first heavy layer down. We’re gonna powder it down, and then do another layer on top of this. Pressing into the brow helps to flatten out some of the groove edges. After that ste’s complete, you’re going to go back in with one more coat, again using the light, Ben Nye concealer, pressing it in so every strand of hair is covered. Once that step’s complete, your brows are blocked, and you’re on to moving into the face.
