How to Do Cat Eye Makeup

Transcript

Hi, my name’s Kenneth Llambelis. I’m one of the head makeup artists at Abracadabra Superstore in the heart of New York City. You can find out more about me and the store Abracadabra at www.abracadabrasuperstore.com.

So now on to the most important part of your cat look — cat eyes. It’s gonna be what’s gonna add the drama and pizazz to your final look. I’m gonna start off by getting a silver cream color with a little bit of shimmer to it. I’m gonna place this right on your lid. After you have that on you’re going to go over it with a silver shimmer eyeshadow. So I’ll be working with the silver lumière color by Ben Nye. Getting right up to the crease. Once you have that applied, we’re gonna start working on the lower lash line with a black liner. And we’re gonna give you that dramatic cat shape. First we’re gonna fill in the water line. Now for the cat eye shape we’re gonna do almost like a “”S”” formation starting with a point right here coming up and coming out. You want this edge to come up right below the brow. And once you have the shape, you’re gonna start working on the top again. Close. Again connecting the tip of the point at the inner point of the eye. Up, then into the crease. I’m gonna go in a little bit and add a little bit more of a sharper edge by going over the black line with a little bit of the black cake make up by Kryolon. Blending a little bit more of the black into the silver, leaving the middle the brightest. So now you’re just gonna go in and make sure all the edges of your cat eye are crisp and sharp. Do this by taking the black pressed shadow and doing one thick swoop across the entire shape. We’re gonna now add a little bit of grey right above the black. And open. And you have your cat look.
