Hi, my name’s Kenneth Llambelis. I’m one of the head makeup artists at Abracadabra Superstore in the heart of New York City. You can find out more about me and the store Abracadabra at www.abracadabrasuperstore.com.
So for this look, we’ll be working on a cat face. There’s three main areas of the face that we’re gonna be focusing on today. It’s gonna be the nose/bridge area, the cheeks, and then the chin. That’s what we’re gonna highlight and kind of pull out more to give you like a feline look. We’re gonna start with a base coat. And for the base coat, we’re gonna start with a grey cake makeup. Just add a little bit of water. Don’t want to add too much — the less water you add to it, the thicker it will be. And then you’re just going to apply it to the cheek area. In this area right around the mouth, you wanna kind of curve it out. This is where your highlight is gonna go and kind of push the face out a little bit more. Give it more of a cat look. Right where her eyebrow begins, right here we’re just gonna do a straight line down. And this is where the bridge of the nose is gonna be, where we’re eventually gonna give her more of a cat like nose. The eyes you can leave bare because we’re gonna be adding makeup on top of that later. If you see any areas that have streaks, what you wanna do is just press the color into it so it gives it a nice, solid shape. Once you have the grey complete, you’re gonna now start going in with a white. So use another similar brush to the one you were using the grey base for. Just put a little bit of water on there, and just get some white cake makeup on the brush as well. We’re gonna start on the forehead, kind of in a diamond shape up here. And just gonna blend right into the grey. You wanna make sure it’s a straight line going through. This is what’s gonna give it that kind of like box-like, feline shape to the nose. Then when you have the nose ready, we’re gonna start working on the cheeks. We’re gonna add a little bit of a cheek highlight. Just to kind of pull the face up like so. Now we’re gonna start adding the contour. I’m gonna use a black pressed shadow on a fluffy blush brush and kind of go right under the highlighted cheekbone we just created. You’re gonna do the same thing around the temple of her head. So we’re gonna emphasis the cheekbones a little bit further. Just giving it light strokes to give it the appearance of fur. A little bit more this way. And you wanna fade it out towards the back. And you have your cat face.
