How to Blend Color for a Special FX Zipper Face

Transcript

Now that we’ve applied our base coat of red, I’m going to add a deep maroon red color, also from the Ben Nye Bruise Wheel. I’m just going to go over that initial layer that we had, especially on the outer edges. I’m just going to deepen that color a little bit. We’re trying to create some depth in the face. The way I’ve glued this on with the spirit gum, I’ve left some open flesh flaps. And so the farther into the flaps, the darker the color should be. All around those edges. Be really gentle when you’re doing this. And then I’m going to go up along the sides of the nose as well. And now I’m going to go in along those edges, deep into there with a black. And then I’m going to blend the color in toward the mouth. You want kind of a gradation of color coming in toward the center of the face. Once that’s done, we’re going to add the blood.
