How to Make a Box Friendship Bracelet using Lanyard

Transcript

Hi. I’m Colleen from The Lanyard Ladies and I’m going to show you today how to make a box pattern with lanyard. I’ve already done some so it’s easier for me to teach you how to do it, so I can hold on to something. So you’re going to start with your yellow or whatever case, whatever color you’re working with. It’s coming out this side of the box. I’m going to fold it over in the opposite direction and make a small loop. And you do the same with this yellow. Fold it over in the opposite direction making a small loop.

Then you take your side colors and you will go over the first yellow and under the second. Again you’re going under the closed side of the loop because if you look at this yellow, it’s open on this side but it’s closed over here so you’re going under the closed side of the loop. Then you take the other pink over the first yellow and under the second. And you take all four strings and pull them into place to form the box. And you can keep doing it. Stick with the yellow. We’ll go yellow loop in this direction and a yellow loop in the opposite direction.

I think it’s easier to keeping looping with the same colors until you really get the pattern down. And then you take your side color over the first yellow, under the second. And this side. This pink goes over the first and under the second. And you pull all four strings into place. I find it also easier when I’m first learning to do a pattern to use the same colors as the demonstrator is using so it makes it easier to follow. So we’re going to make a yellow loop in this direction, and this goes over in the opposite direction. And we’re going to go over the first yellow and under the second. And this pink goes over the first yellow and under the second. And we pull all four together to form the box. Now if you keep doing this, you’ll end up with something that looks like this. This is a box stitch pattern. And that’s how you make a box stitch out of lanyard.
