How to Make a King Cobra Friendship Bracelet with Lanyard

Transcript

Hi, I’m Heidi from The Lanyard Ladies, and today I’ll be showing you how to make a king cobra out of lanyard.

So in order to make your king cobra, you would have to start off by making your cobra stitch. You need to make it approximately two or three inches down, so you have to know how to make your cobra stitch, and then when you’re halfway down, you’re going to turn your cobra upside down. Take the two long remaining pieces, and you’re going to fold your strings down, and you’re going to start making the cobra on top of what you already made. You’re going to leave those two out. Start making a loop down, around the back, through the big loop, the same pattern that you used to make a regular cobra.

But your king cobra is going to get thicker and thicker, you can go two or three times if you wanted to. Go around the back, through the big loop, pull to the top, and tighten. So you’re doing a cobra on top of a cobra, purple goes across, green goes down, around the back, through the big loop, pull across, and tighten, and you’ll see you cobra getting thicker. Always purple across, purple across, green around the back, pull both cords together, and tighten. Now you can see it’s getting thicker on top of the original cobra stitch that you made, around the back, and tighten, purple goes across, green goes down, around the back, pull both cords, and tighten.

You keep doing this till you cover the entire plain regular cobra that you did. And you can go back over this again, it will just keep getting thicker and thicker, hold tight, cross, down, around the back, tighten, cross, down, around the back, tighten. If you turn it over the other side will be green. I’m working with the purple. Tighten. Just keep doing the same pattern, and this is your king cobra, because it’s just going to keep getting thicker. Now if you wanted to, you can turn it back round again, and you can make it even thicker, just make the same pattern back over what you were doing. Purple goes across, green goes down, and this will make it even thicker, and across.

Purple goes across, green goes down, around the back, and now you see it’s getting even wider, and pull both together. You can make these as long as you want, and as thick as you want, depends how many times you go back over it. You could stop in the middle, you could make very cool patterns with this, and around. And you can just keep going. And this is a sample of what it looks like when it’s done. And that’s how you make a king cobra out of lanyard.
