Hi. I’m Heidi from the Lanyard Ladies, and today I’m going to show you how to make a tunnel out of lanyard. You’re going to need three colors and one clear. The clear is going to go on the outside. The clear needs to be 60 inches long, and your colored lanyard needs to be 30 inches long. So you’re going to be working with a very long string, the 60-inch piece, the piece that’s going to go around. Take your lanyard, and you’re going to fold it in half. Line them all up at the top, and then fold them in half. You’re going to take your keyring, and you’re going to put it through, and you’re going to tie it together. Just make a regular knot with all of the lanyard together.
And pull the longest one through, and tie it really tight. Now pull all the lanyards straight down. And take the clear that’s the longest one, and you’re going to twist it around. Keep twisting with one hand, and the other hand you’re wrapping the clear around. So you’re twisting. You’re going to get twisted effect through the clear. And just keep twisting and twisting it around. It looks really cool when it’s done. And people won’t figure out how you did it. But it’s really simple. You’re basically just wrapping the clear around all the colors. Now if it ‘s too hard for you to use both your hands and twist at the same time, you can also take the clear and just wrap it around.
Just keep wrapping it and wrapping it, and you’re still going to get the same effect. But don’t let go, because if you let go the whole thing will unravel. So just keep going, and wrap it and wrap it. And if you want, you can also clip it to your clipboard if it ‘s too hard for you to hold it in the air and do it. And you can wrap it that way. Just keep wrapping it around. Every once in a while it might get a little bit tangled, and you’ll just have to work with the strings and untangle them. And just keep wrapping it around. And then you can go back to holding it in your hand. And you can make this as long or as short as you want. It’s a very cool keychain.
So you could stop whenever you want. But it goes quicker the more practice you have, the faster you can do it. And when you get to the end and you’re ready to stop, you just take all your lanyard and tie a basic knot. And make sure you pull really, really, really tight. The plastic lacing will stretch, and it will look like this. And you can take your scissor, and you cut of the excess. And that’s how you make a tunnel with lanyard.
