How to Use Sliding Knots to Make Leather Bracelets

Transcript

Hi, I’m Tam and I’m going to show you how to make a simple leather bracelet with one bead on it and sliding knots.

So basically, this is the sample of what we’re going to make. This is a pearl with unnatural leather and the sliding knots mean that they’re adjustable. So if you slide it this way to make the loop bigger to put it on and then once you have it on you pull the knots, the sliding knots and it slides down the corner and makes it tighter. So, this one, I’m going to use this Buddha head carved out of Agate, and I’m not going to need that much cord.

So, once again the size for a woman’s bracelet is usually about seven inches, the inner measurement. The knot, so you should lay this out how, at the size of the wrist you would like it to be. I’m going to make this a little bit bigger so it’s going to be about, and I want to have extra, just to pull this tighter. So I get some curl.

So I want to lay it out like this and I kind of eyeball and estimate that, that’s how big the wrist that I would like the opening to be. Then I take the end and basically I make a knot. So this is how the cord looked, right. I’m going to do this and I’m going to make a knot and I’d like to make bigger knot with a big tail just in case I need to adjust. So now, you see now, it’s just slides on to the other end.

Okay. So now this is the crucial part of the whole measurement so I want this to be, I want this to be the finish size. So I’m going to cut out here and make the knot. So to get it on, I do that and to close it. And that’s it. So you can trim these or you can add little beads on to here and that’s it.
