My name is Ben Nemzer and I’m a magician. One of my specialties is close-up magic, which is magic with ordinary objects, that’s with cards, ropes, rubber bands. I do that all over New York City. I’m going to teach you some of the basics of magic, that you guys can start performing right away. I’m going to show you one way to take a coin and put it right through the table. Here’s the secret. Now, this is only one way to do the trick, but I think you’ll have fun with it, if you give it a try. What you do, is you reach for the coin and start pushing it towards yourself, with these four fingers. And right when it gets to the end of the table, you just knock it off the edge. You can’t really see it, but it looks just like that, with one finger. When you’re using all the fingers, as soon as you feel it fall off the edge, you pinch it and you really pretend you’re holding a coin. And you catch it in the other hand. Now you bring it to the table, smack it down, and you see that the coin went right through the table.
