My name is Ben Nemzer and i’m a magician, one of my specialty’s is close up magic. Which is magic with ordinary objects; Decks of cards, ropes, rubber bands and I do that all over New York City. I’m gonna teach you some of the basics of magic that you guys can start performing right away. Alright, I’m gonna show you how to take a coin and make it go right through a napkin. Have a look. You place the coin underneath,And i’ll show – you can see it really is right there. And we just cover it up. You can see it really is in there, and one, two. Right through the napkin. Now here’s the explanation, you take the coin and you put it right underneath. Now from behind no one can see what you’re doing but you take your thumb and you create a little fold. So now you are holding that fold with a pinch of your thumb. When you lift the napkin to show that the coin really is underneath you square the napkin up and when you cover it back up, rather than just putting the one flap back over, you’re putting the entire napkin over the coin. So what the audience doesn’t see is that the coin is actually only behind the napkin not underneath. You pull it up showing that it is still underneath the napkin when it really isn’t, to make it go through – do some magic and slide it right from behind. And that’s how you make a coin go through a napkin.
