My name is Ben Nemzer, and I am a magician. One of my specialties is close-up magic with ordinary objects, decks of cards, ropes, rubber bands, and I do that all over New York City. I’m going to teach you some of the basics of magic that you guys can start performing right away. I’m going to show you how to take a bread roll and bounce it really high. Now, look. Now, here’s the secret behind the bouncing bread roll. For starters, there are actually two bread rolls, and you don’t let anybody know that you have two. And you want to try to find two that look pretty similar, although nobody will notice if they’re slightly different like these. And you leave one on the bread plate, and when no one’s looking, you take another one and sneak it into your lap and I keep it right here on my left knee. Now, what I do is as I reach for the bread roll with my right hand, my left hand takes this one off my knee. Now, it looks like this bread roll is bouncing, but what happens is as soon as I hear the impact of it hitting the floor, I take the other hand and I toss it up, just like that. And that’s how you bounce a bread roll really high.
