Ava: Hi everybody, how are you doing? I’m Ava. This is my identical twin Loretta. We’re the Double Time Twins. Right now, we’re going to teach you how to dance like Britney Spears.

We’re going to show you some moves that she did in her “Hit Me Baby One More Time” video, which is when we met her and fell in love with her.

So the first thing we’re going to do is we’re going to step with our right foot forward, and our hands are going to come out, so we step; one and then you bring your hands in. You hug yourself; two, and then you put your arms up; three and you put them down, four, awesome.

So just the hands go; forward, hug, up, drop, good; again five six, seven, eight, forward, hug, up, drop, awesome, when you do this you’re going to walk forward, five, six, seven, eight; one, two , three, four, awesome.

Next part we go, and five, drop six, bring it up seven, and you hip eight, eight, and then we do it again, and one, two, three, hip four. Good, so we do that twice. Let’s do it again, and five, one, two, three, four and five, six, seven, hip eight, and one, two three, four.

Awesome, from here, arms come around and your hips go side to side, five, six, seven, eight. Awesome, and as you do that your hips go side to side, and your hands are hugging, and then you just slowly put them out.

Loretta: Like you’re hugging yourself and then pushing it away.

Ava: Right, so from and five, one, two, three, four and five, six, hip seven, eight, and one, two, three, hug yourself, push it out, push – push. Awesome, so we’re here. The next move, you’re just going — you could lock if you do it with one of your friends. In the video, she has a whole group. Okay, so we’re just going to show it together. You’ll watch it. You’ll be like, “Oh.”

So we’re here, we’re going to arch your back and we come down; we go one, two, three, four bring it down, six, seven, eight, awesome. From here, you’re just going to come up right away and circle and your arms are going to come up.

One, two, three, four, awesome; so you circle one, two, and you circle again three, four. And your hand just comes around to your stomach like that. Good, let’s do it again. So we’re here, five, six, seven, eight, one, two, three, four; awesome.

From here keep this arm up and just look to the side, five, and then you’re going to pose six, switch your arms, six. Good, and then your hands come in front and then cross seven, and then you hit your hips eight. Good, again we go arms up, we go five, switch it six; bring it front seven. Cross, hit your hips, eight. Good, now let’s put that all together from the top.

Loretta: Oh, gosh.

Ava: And we go five, six, seven, eight; one, two, three, four and five, six, hips seven, eight. Again, one, two, three, four hug yourself, push it out, bring it down and up, and then you circle, hand over your stomach and now we pose, pose, front, hip, awesome, five six seven, eight, and that’s how you dance like Britney Spears in, “Hit Me Baby One More Time.”

Ava: Hi everybody, I’m Ava. This is Loretta and we’re the Double Time Twins, born and raised in Long Island, New York. Growing up, we started dancing really young. We’ve also been teaching our whole lives too, because we’ve been teaching each other so that’s something that we really love to do, and that’s close to our hearts. As dancers, we’ve performed with professional dance teams at Madison Square Garden, Prudential Center, and Yankee Stadium. Right now, we’re really focusing on our dance fitness classes that we teach at gyms and studios.

Loretta: Right, because that’s just something that is fun, simple, but everybody could do — just to get everybody moving and having fun — because that’s what it’s basically all about for us.

Ava: And getting a good workout in, too.

Loretta: Yes, and getting a good workout in too, of course. To learn more about us, you can go to our website at www.doubletimetwins.com

Ava: Facebook and Twitter/DoubleTimeTwins. And now, we’re going to break down some dance moves for you.

Loretta: Hey, everybody. What’s up? My name is Loretta. This is my twin sister Ava, and this is Anthony, and right now we’re going to teach you how to dance at a high school dance. So really, Monday through Friday, you’re in high school and you’re in class, you’re at lunch. You know you’re learning, you’re studying, you’re working, right? So time when you get to high school dance, you want to just have fun. So we’re going to show you three moves that you could do to have fun and dance with your friends.

Anthony: You just let loose. Let loose and have a good time.

Ava: That’s what it’s all about, right?

Loretta: Okay, so the first move is just a basic, say you have three friends, right? It’s a guy and two girls, okay? We could just do a basic snake, and a step touch, and everyone goes to the right, okay? Five, six, seven, eight; one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight; one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, that’s fun and interacting. You’re hanging out with your friends. It’s something just simple, cool and easy.

Anthony: Now the second step that we’re going to learn is just a simple step touch, moving around the circle and just having a good time. Keep engaged with your friends and just let loose. High school dances are just about getting away from your studies and having a good time. So let’s break it down. We’re in a circle; five, six, seven, eight; step touch, step touch and turn, and hip; step touch, step touch and turn, and hip.

Ava: Awesome, so that’s the second move that you can do at a high school dance. The third move you could do is when you are in a circle, you guys are all in it together, you could push it down and then breeze through and push down; breeze through and push down, and breeze through and push down, and breeze through.

Ava: Awesome, so those are the three moves that you could do with your friends at a high school dance. Let’s go through them one more time together. So the first move, snake; five, six, seven, eight; one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight; awesome.

Anthony: Now our second move is step touch with a circle; five, six, seven eight; one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

Loretta and Ava: Awesome.

Ava: Third move, push it down, breeze through; five, six, seven, eight. Push it down, breeze through, push it down, breeze through, push it down, breeze through, push it down, breeze through.

Loretta: So those are three moves that you could do, with your friends at a high school dance.

Ava: Hi, everybody. I’m Ava. This is Loretta. We are the Double Time Twins, and right now we are going to teach you how to dance like Beyoncé. In her “End of Time” video, Beyoncé’s really more about being fierce.

Loretta: Fierce.

Ava: Sasha Fierce. She’s all about being fierce. It’s not necessarily that her choreography is difficult. It’s the energy that she brings to it. It’s really fierce. I’m trying to think of another word. It’s really fierce. OK. We’re going to teach you two types of eight where we can start to learn how to dance like Beyoncé.

Loretta: The first thing that we’re going to do is angle our body a little bit, and our hips are just going to go front and back, and you’re kind of shifting your weight a little bit, too, when you do that. We got one, two, three, snap, four, five, six, seven, snap, eight. Awesome. And make sure you have a slight bend in the knee, too, and really feel it. Even use your shoulder if you want to, too. Just make sure you bring your own fierceness into the move. Yes. She’s Sasha Fierce. You can be Ava Fierce.

Ava: Got it.

Loretta: However you want to do it. Again, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, snap, four, five, six, seven, snap, eight. Good. From here your back leg is going to come front, and you’re going to face the front again. One, good. Your arm comes up, and it’s bent here, and this one the same thing, opposite. We got one, and then you switch. Two, you switch. Three, and you stay here, and you just dig in a little deeper on four. Four. And we do it again. The same thing. One, two, three, four. Awesome.

Let’s do that kind of beat again from here. This leg comes out to the side, and your arms are up. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, and four, five, six, seven, and eight. Good. The key thing to remember when you’re doing this move is to be free, let your hair go, and just really be in it. OK? Let’s do that.

Ava: And whip your hair.

Loretta: OK. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, and four. Five, six, seven, and eight. Awesome. Let’s put that together. From here.

Ava: One, two, three, snap, four.

Loretta: Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, snap, four. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, and four. Five, six, seven, and eight. Awesome.

Ava: Let’s do that with the music.

Loretta: OK. Five, six, here. Five, six, seven, eight. And that’s how you dance like Beyoncé in the “End of Time” video.

And we go five, six, seven, eight; one, two, three, four, arms up, six, seven, eight, awesome. All right, next move we’re going to circle to the right; five, six, seven, eight; one, two, three, four, awesome. From here we’re going to tap with both our hands. Tap back, tap front, tap back, tap front, awesome. A little bit faster, it’s going to go five and six, okay?

Loretta: You do three taps.

Ava: Yes, three taps, so take it from here. We’re going to circle twice and then tap three times; five, six, seven, eight; one, two, three, four, five and six, awesome. From here, we’re going to hair flick, seven, eight. So here, five and six, step front seven, together on eight.

Ava: Hi everybody., how are you doing? I’m Ava. This is my identical twin, Loretta. We’re the Double Time Twins, and right now we’re going to teach you how to dance like Ciara.

One thing about Ciara is all about her attitude. She’s very cool and relaxed with her choreography. Our favorite dance moves that she doe is in her “One Two Step” videos, so that’s what we’re going to teach you right now.

Loretta: Awesome.

Ava: So, two counts of beat. The first count of beat is the “let me do my one two step.” Okay, so here we go. Your leg’s going to come front and then your other leg’s going to come behind. The leg in front is going to come to the side and this other leg is going to come front.

And we’re going to do the same exact thing the other way; front, back, side, front; front, back, side, front; front, back, side, front; front, back, side, front. Now when you do this, you can lean with it. Like, your hand’s going to be here and you’re pushing through.

Loretta: Like you’re pushing through something.

Ava: So here we go; front, back, side, front; front, back, side, front; front, back, side, front. Let me do my one two step, awesome. We do that twice, let’s do it again; five, six, seven, eight; one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, awesome.

Next part, Ciara likes to shake her booty, so that’s what we’re going to show you right now. We’re going to turn to the side.

Loretta: It’s true. She does a good job.

Ava: Okay, so we turn to the side. We go one, two, three, four, so our hips are going to circle. Then you’re taking two steps, so your body faces the side, okay? Let’s do it again; five, six, seven, eight; one, two, three, four, awesome.

From here, you’re going to come down like this. This foot that’s in front, you’re going to come up on your toe, and your hips are going to shift with it, and then you’re going to push it down — BOOM. Then you’re going to do it again, up and then sit — BOOM. You do that twice.

Let’s turn, so we turn; one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Awesome, let’s do that from the turn; five, six, seven, eight; one, two, three, four, up sit, up sit. Awesome, now let’s put it together. From the push, BOOM, and we we go five, six, seven, eight; one, two and circle, up sit, up sit.

Now if you want to add a little more spunk or flavor to it, you could even look at it, right? Boom — pssh, boom — pssh, or if there’s someone that you want to attract and he’s right up front, you could look at them too. All right, let’s do it to music. Here we go; five, six, seven, eight, and that’s how you dance to Ciara “One Two Step.”

That’s our favorite song by her, too. And it’s just clean, simple, easy choreography that’s just fun to do and always put a smile on our face. So two things to remember while you’re doing this. Think beachy, California. Easy. Simple. Right? So Loretta’s going to take us through the first count of eight.

Loretta: There’s four in total, and we’re going to make sure we break it out for you, so we get it before we move on. So we’ve got the first count of eight, your hand goes on your hip. Boom. And you face the side, too. And you take a step back, and you’re going to do a body roll when you go back, so your chest comes out, and then your butt comes out. So chest, stomach, butt. And we do that as we walk, you’re going to do four. So here we go. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four. Five, six, seven, eight. Awesome. Let’s try this again. Five, six, seven, eight. Ava: Right.

Lorette: Circle. Circle this way.

Loretta: Hey everyone, what’s up? my name’s Loretta. This is Ava and Anthony. Today, we’re going to teach you how to slow dance. Now this is something that usually happens probably at every single party that you go to, every club you go to. So this is something that you definitely want to learn how to do.

First thing is a guy and a girl would touch each other. So placement is crucial, right? So girls hands go on the guys shoulder and the guy’s hands go on her hips. Make sure it’s not too low or not too high, okay? So basic thing, step touch, step together; step together, step together, step together, awesome.

Ava: Keep going.

Loretta: Yeah. Now you see how it’s easy. They’re not too close, they’re not too far and a big thing is eye contact.

Ava: Yes, you want to make sure you’re connecting with the person that you’re talking to and not looking around. Make sure that they know that you’re interested and you’re having a good time.

Anthony: Now for guys, big thing you can do when you feel like the dance is just getting a little too normal. Simple little spin, spice it up, maybe a kiss on the hand and the last thing, a nice little dip.

Loretta: Oh, guys if you do that, you’ve got her in the palm of your hand, all right?

Ava: All right, let’s go over those moves from the top.

Loretta: So if you do it all together. Here we go, step together; one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Then Anthony can turn her, maybe give her a kiss or a dip, and then kiss her hand, and then you’re good to go. Thank you, Ava and Anthony, so that is how you slow dance with a guy.

Loretta: Hey, everybody. What’s up? My name’s Loretta. This is my twin sister, Ava, and this is Anthony. Today, we’re going to show you the three worst dance moves that you could possibly do at a party. I know sometimes you’re in it, and there’s so much going on, and sometimes you don’t even think and you bust out like the Running Man, or something. You want to just make sure you keep your cool and you’re still able to have fun at the same time, because when you bust out these moves, people can kind of just, like…

Ava: “Eww, that’s played out.”

Loretta: Yeah.

Ava: Not a good move.

Anthony: And you don’t want to bring the energy down from the party. If you have a basic dance move that you know, that will keep the party going and not — you’re really good to go.

Loretta: And not what? Okay, so first one we can show you is basically the Running Man, okay? You just look like you’re jumping and it’s awkward and it’s weird. Running Man is a no.

Anthony: Absolute no. The next one is the Chicken. You’re going to take your foot, and just…

Ava: Oh, God.

Anthony: Too much of this, I’ve seen people get knocked out. I’m not even kidding. I’ve seen a kid get knocked out from this.

Ava: Oh, my God.

Loretta: Okay, another one is…

Anthony: The Cabbage Patch.

Loretta and Ava: The Cabbage Patch, so that’s basically like, when you stand here and you just go like this or this.

Ava: Yeah, you’re not really sure what you’re doing, right? So there’s not necessarily really bad dance moves, but just basically how you execute it. It’s like what Anthony said, just bring good energy, fun. But those are just three moves that we would probably avoid, so it’s the Running Man, all right? The Chicken…

Ava: People do, do this at a party, so we see it all the time.

Anthony: You do.

Ava: Just don’t do it. Unless you want to be that one be like, “Oh, he busted it out.” But that’s on you.

Loretta: Yeah, you don’t want to be that one in our opinion.

Ava: You just want to be the cool one.

Loretta: So those are three of our worst dance moves.

Ava: Hi everybody. I’m Ava. This is Lauretta and this is Anthony. Right now, we are going to show you how to dance at a house party. The cool thing about house parties and why it’s different that dancing at a club is because …

Lauretta: Laid back.

Ava: most likely, yeah, it’s a little more laid back, a little more chill, because most likely you are not going to have the music extremely loud like if you are at club. You are not going to be surrounded by hundreds of people as if you are at a club.

Lauretta: And if someone’s is talking to you and you just nod, like yeah, yeah, when you really don’t know what they are saying at the club. Just like, yeah, yeah, I don’t know what you are saying but yeah, Okay. But at a house party, you can actually have a conversation.

Ava: And really engage, understand and get to know each other, which is very cool. So how to dance at a house party?

Lauretta: At a house party. For example, if I have standing over here, and I’m just chilling. And Anthony sees me from across the room and he wants to come over because obviously he wants to come over and talk to me, right? Okay. I’m just going to hang out over here, say, hanging over here and looking at my nails or something.

Anthony: So guys, when you are at a party, and you really want to just make the first dance move and approach some girl, it’s just really basic and simple. Come over, get some conversation here, and after a while you guys can just start dancing. And it’s just simple. Simple step touch.

Lauretta: Eye contact.

Anthony: The whole time. And then, keep the conversation going, and if it goes well, you can get her number.

Ava: That’s something you’ll be able to really read, for sure. Of course, but obviously he’ll be able to get her phone number. Yeah.

Anthony: And guys, that’s how you dance with a girl at a party.

Ava: Hi everybody. I’m Ava. This is my sister Loretta and this is Anthony. Right now we’re going to show you some three basic moves on how to dance to hip-hop music. The main thing with hip-hop I guess is just be, like, relaxed and, like, have fun. Not too serious. Like you don’t want to stand up too straight because you’ll be, like, stiff, you know. You’re going to stand basically, like, shoulder width apart with your feet and your knees are going to bent a little bit. This is pretty much where you live and where you start with all of your hip-hop grooves.

The first hip-hop groove Loretta is going to take us through.

Loretta: We can do just a basic kick-ball-change. You’re going to take one foot, you’re just going kick in front. Then you’re going to cross it over. Then the back foot is going to step back. Then you’re going to do the same thing. Kick, step, back. Kick, step, back. Kick, step, back. When you double time it, here we go. One-and-two, three-and-four, five-and-six, seven-and-eight.

You could also add a little bounce to it, to the beat. That’s the relaxed, chill mood of hip-hop. Let’s do it again. Five, six, seven, eight. One-and-two, three-and-four, five-and-six, seven-and-eight. Awesome. Next move.

Anthony: Sweet. Now we’re going to break into the slide and step. We’re going to slide and hit, slide and hit. And hit. Now if you want to get some more energy it’s going to be a hop, and hop, and hop, and hop. Now let’s put that together. To the right. Five, six, seven, eight. Slide and hop, and hop, and hop. Awesome

Ava: I’m feeling hip-hoppy already. OK, so one more move we’re going to show you is just basically you’re going to stand shoulder width apart and your hands are going to come out and then come in and then come out and then come in. While you do that your hips are going to move with it. They’re going to go out, in, out, in, out, in, out, in. Right? We’re going to start together and then we’re going to jump out as we do this and add a little bit of bounce to it. Five, six, seven, eight. Out, in, out, in, out, in, out, in. Awesome.

Loretta: Those are three basic steps that you can do to dance to hip-hop music. Go through them one more time. First one, kick-ball-change. Five, six, seven, eight. Kick-ball-change, kick-ball-change, kick-ball-change, kick-ball-change.

Anthony: Now we have the slide hop. Five, six, seven, eight. Slide, slide, slide, slide.

Ava: Awesome. And the last one. Your arms go out and in with the hips. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

That’s how you dance to hip-hop music.

Ava: I’m Ava.

Loretta: And Anthony, and right now we’re going to teach you how to dubstep.

Anthony: All right, what we’re basically going to break it down into is two steps and a hit. On our right foot, we’re going to go right, left, then left. Left, right and right. Right, left and left. Left, right and right.

Now we’re going to double time this and speed it up, so we get the full kind of pace and so you guys can see what we’re going to be doing. Ready? Five, six, seven, eight. Great, so we’ll show it to you one more time. We’re going to go right, left and left. Left, right and right. One more time. Right, left and left. And left, right and right.

Now that you guys have all the feet work down, we’re going to add some arms. We’re going to go right, left and right, and pulse, left, right and right, and pulse.

And now, when you’re grape-vining, your arms can come kind of down, so it’s here and pulse. Here and pulse. Here and pulse. Here and pulse, and guys that pulse can be almost a right, left and hit. Left, right and hit.

Loretta: And done!

Anthony: And girls, you can even go right, left and pose.

Loretta: Hair flick.

Anthony: Right, left and pose, right, left and pose, and that’s how you dance the dubstep.

Anthony: Hi, I’m Anthony.

Ava: Hi, I’m Ava.

Loretta: I’m Loretta. Right now, Anthony is going to show us some sexy moves for a guy at a club.

Anthony: All right. So guys, we’re going to break it down on the dance floor and we’re going to try to get a girl’s eye. We’re going to keep it calm, cool, and collected. Simple, slide hit, slide hit, slide hit, slide hit.

Now if you want to add some flavor to it, you can drop the shoulders, drop the shoulders, drop the shoulders and drop the shoulders. I’m going to teach you one more and then we’ll get to some don’ts. So the second do is we’re going to go slide tap, slide and back, slide and back, slide and back.

Loretta: That’s pretty sexy.

Anthony: Now for our don’ts. We have some major don’ts, we don’t want to do on the dance floor. I call this a breakdown of a terrible Running Man.

Loretta: Oh, no.

Anthony: If you’re in a club, and you just see a random guy who’s doing some of this, she’s not going to call you.

Ava: No,not sexy.

Anthony: Not at all. I know every girl likes to drop it low, but when you’re a guy I just don’t think it works the same way. You probably shouldn’t just be like…

Ava: Definitely not. I’d be like, “EWWW.”.

Anthony: And that’s the response you don’t want to get, and guys, that’s how you dance sexy and confident at a club.

Ava: Awesome.

Loretta: You’ll definitely get a girl’s attention.

Loretta: Hey everybody, what’s up? My name is Loretta. This is my twin sister, Ava, and this is Anthony. Today, I’m going to show you how to motivate your friends to dance. I know this is the big thing. We go out it’s like, “Ah, I should have danced, but I like to dance.”

So this is – it’s a big thing, right? Not everybody loves to dance, but you can get them to dance with you, and then you’ll end up having fun together as opposed to you just being over here, and them being being over here, right? Because that’s why we’re going out in the first place, to have fun and to dance, right?

So example, Ava and Anthony, come and stand over here, being really standoffish. They don’t want to dance, right? And you’re over here and you’re like, “I want to dance, no one’s dancing with me.” Instead of complaining, what you could do to get your friends to dance with you, is just come over, be really cool, all right?

And be confident and have fun. So you’re like, “Hey guys, can you come dance with me? Come dance with me. Come, it’ll be fun. Maybe, maybe, a little bit, a little bit, a little more, a little more. Yes, all right. Get a party time, yeah, yeah.”

Ava: Okay, that would actually, really motivate me to dance, because what Loretta did there was, she just got us moving. She just got us moving, because that’s probably the hardest thing to do to, is to get your friends to dance. Just get them moving. So, if you slightly just touch them, like grab their hands.

Loretta: Inviting, welcoming.

Ava: Yeah, be welcoming and inviting, and just start moving with them. Turn one of them, you’re going to get a smile, right away. And then just bring up the energy and they’ll all dance with you.

Anthony: The best thing about it is also, if you don’t come off too aggressive and almost playful, it really does work at the end of the day, because if you’re inviting to dance with you, instead of forcing them, everyone’s going want to dance with you that day.

Loretta: Absolutely, Anthony is totally right, high five. Yes, way cool. So just come in, be really cool and be really inviting, too. Don’t come over like, too strong, like crazy dance with me, okay? You have to come over and you got to be really cool and just simple dance moves.

Side to side, yes. We’re all having fun. We’re all friends. We’re all together. We’re all having fun. And you could just take it from there and make it your own group, so that is how you can motivate your friends to come and dance with you.

Ava: Hi, everybody. How are you doing? I’m Ava. This is Loretta. We are the Double Time Twins, and right now we are going to teach you how to dance with your hips. We’re going to show you two moves. Swivel hips right and left, and a circle. Yes? Okay.

The first one, right/left basically. You’re just going to stand with your feet shoulder width apart, and you’re going to do a slight bend in the knee. Okay. Make sure you stand up here, so it’s not like you’re like this. Okay. You’re up here, right? And your hips just go side to side.

Loretta: And you have to shut up, too?

Ava: Yeah. Well, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, left. And you can bring it down, and you can bring it back up. You can use your hands. As long as you keep this basic movement going, anything you feel comfortable doing, you’re good.

Loretta: Awesome.

Ava: And one more thing you can do with your hips, is you can circle either to the right or to the left, whichever you prefer. I actually do things to the right, Loretta goes to the left.

Loretta: So, let’s both go this way?

Ava: Okay. Again, with the hips side to side, we’re going to bend slightly in the knee, hunch over a little bit, and we’re going to circle to the right.

Loretta: Go one, two, three, four, five, six, seven.

Ava: Again, you can bring it down, and then you can bring it back up. And make it fun. And make it your own. You can also just circle to the right. Boom, boom, boom. Or you can just go to the left. Boom, boom, boom, boom. You don’t have to snap every time you do it. We just tend to do that.

Okay. A couple things you can do with your hips. Go right, left, right, left. You can circle, and circle. Five, six, seven, eight.

Awesome. And that’s how you dance with your hips.

Loretta: Hi, everybody. My name is Loretta and this is my sister, Ava. We’re the Double-Time Twins, and today we’re going to teach you how to dance on beat. So the first thing you should remember when you do this is basically just listen to the music and get into the groove of the music. The easiest thing you could do is clap. So when you hear your instructor or someone talk . . .

Ava: Wait. When you hear your instructor, or if you’re ever taking class and they count to eight, that’s what they’re counting. They’re counting the beat. So they go, “One, two, three, four . . .”

Both: “. . . Five, six, seven, eight”.

Loretta: They’re doing that to help you so you can dance on beat.

Ava: On beat.

Loretta: So I can do that, and Ava, you could do a dance move so they could see what it’s like to dance on beat.

Ava: Okay.

Loretta: So we got five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Awesome. That is how you dance on beat.

How to Get a Shy Boy to Dance https://howcast.com/videos/511087-how-to-get-a-shy-boy-to-dance-beginner-dancing/ Mon, 18 Mar 2013 16:21:45 +0000 https://howcast.com/videos/511087-how-to-get-a-shy-boy-to-dance-beginner-dancing/

Transcript

Loretta: Hey everyone, what’s up? My name’s Loretta. This is Ava and Anthony. Today, we’re going to show you how to get shy guys to dance. I know when some guys are just standing, when you’re at a party or at a club, or at an event or wherever you are, and they kind of just stand up in the corner, that’s kind of really attractive.

It’s kind of like “I want to get him to dance.” And you’re kind of, like up for the challenge. At first before anything, you have to be up to the challenge, okay? How am I going to get this guy to dance with me, right?

The first thing, before you do that you’ve got to be confident. You’ve got to walk over to him with confidence, because he’s shy. Don’t be overly confident to overwhelm him, but just be a little extra confident to give that confidence to him. So Anthony’s going to be like a shy guy.

Loretta: Okay, so say Anthony’s a shy guy and he’s in the corner, and Ava’s over here. She’s scoping him out. “Oh, he looks really hot. I want to get this guy to dance with me,” right? So basically, just come over and be cool, right? Walk over and just be cool. Just be cool.

“Hey, what’s up? How you doing?” Maybe a little conversation and then maybe, if you would take his hands like this and just gradually walk with him. Something like a natural movement that he would already do. So just walk, maybe walk slowly to the dance floor, okay? And then maybe you could swing your arms side to side, maybe you could two step with him.

Then maybe you could even lead and turn yourself around to make him feel like, “Oh, my God. I just turned this chick around. I’m awesome.” That’ll give him the confidence to be like, “All right, I got this. I can do this.” And then he gets into it more, yes. Hey, hey, yes. See, now he’s doing it all by himself. So If you were a shy guy, would that work?

Anthony: Of course.

Ava: Awesome.

Loretta: You’re supposed to say that.

Anthony: I know.

Loretta: That is how you get a shy boy to dance with you.

Ava: Hi everybody. How are you doing? My name’s Ava. This is Loretta and this is Anthony. Right now, we’re going to teach you do’s and don’ts on the dance floor, when it comes to guys and girls. So one thing to remember when you’re doing this is to keep it clean.

Have it fun, but not be too sexy. Anthony is going to take us through the do’s and don’ts with guys, because he probably knows better about that than we do. So do’s and don’ts, how to keep it clean and sexy.

Anthony: All right, guys. When we’re dancing with a girl, we don’t want to get too much in their space, because if we’re too much in their space they’re going to back away right away. So if we’re coming over here like this the whole time, that’s the face you’re going to get and you don’t want that. You want to keep it calm, cool and collected.

So we’re just going to step and touch, and step and touch. Now with this, you’re keeping the eye contact. You’re getting to know the person and there’s a smile. Now when you’re going to try and dance more with a girl more and get closer, with hands. Here, we’re cool. Here, we’re not so cool.

Loretta: Not cool. We’re not cool. So let’s keep it in a middle way.

Ava: Not too high, not too low.

Loretta: Not too high, not too low. Just right in the middle. That’s cool. Girl’s hands can go on their shoulders, whatever, if you want to get a little closer. But we could still keep that groove together. Yes, so don’ts are too high, too low. Do’s are in the middle, clean and cool, awesome?

Ava: Yes.

Loretta: Anymore do’s and don’ts with that, you think? I think it’s good, right?

Anthony: I think we are good.

Loretta: Okay, so all right, girls.

Ava: Girls do’s and don’ts. Just keep it clean and classy. No guy is going to want to go up to a girl if they’re going crazy.

Loretta: If they think they’re too good. If they think they’re too good. You want to be welcoming and inviting.

Ava: Anthony said no.

Anthony: Yeah, yeah. You obviously, don’t want somebody who’s just going a little too much out of control.

Loretta: Like if they are going crazy, that’s a no. You don’t want to do that.

Anthony: Abandon ship.

Ava: Ladies, again, simple, clean, easy. Be inviting and welcoming to the guys, so you can find each other’s groove. And then if you want to get in it with them you’ll be on the same groove, so be cool. Ready? And we can step touch; step, move it opposite, opposite, opposite.

Anthony: All right.

Loretta: Opposite, opposite, opposite, hey, hey. If you want girls, you can turn it around. If you’re feeling it, maybe get lower, hey – hey – hey – hey.

Ava: Awesome, awesome, clean, simple, easy, fun.

Loretta: All right, do’s and don’t’s. Yeah, not too sexy.

Ava: Yeah.

Loretta: So there are do’s and don’ts for guys and girls dancing together.

Loretta: Hey everybody, what’s up? My name’s Loretta. This is my twin sister, Ava. This is Anthony. Today, we’re going to teach you how to dance to rock music. So the basic thing that you want to do when you’re listening to rock, if you’re at a concert, if you’re at a club or anything, is basically, just to feel the beat in your attitude, right? So when you’re in it, what do we all do when we hear rock music?

Anthony: Raise our arms.

Loretta: Our arm is up and that’s what you do. As cliche as it might possibly be, that’s what feels good and that’s just kind of like how your body goes. So one arm is up and your head goes with it and your arm pulses front; one two, three, four; add a bounce; five, six, seven, eight.

Anthony: And another thing you guys want to keep in mind, is that you don’t want to just wave your arms around like you don’t care. But if you stay on beat and really feel the pulse, people around you are going to pick up on that, and you’re going to look like a cool guy or girl.

Loretta: And you’re going to be rocking out. It’s going to be awesome. Another move that we could do is the air guitar.

Ava: The air guitar.

Anthony: The air guitar, so our air guitar is a simple two-step, which is rock and hit, rock and hit, rock and hit, rock and hit. Now you can bring it low, if you want. We can rock and hit low, rock and hit low, rock and hit low, rock and hit low. Or you can bring it up and you can slap the face and put it over your head even, and we’re rocking it high, rocking it high, rocking it high, rocking it high.

Loretta: Awesome, so those are two simple dance moves that you can do to rock the music, to rock out with your friends.

Awesome, so any pose you want to do when you go step together, you pose. Like someone’s taking a picture.

Ava: Picture.

Loretta: Picture, picture, picture. Yes, so here we go; five. And don’t feel like you have to stay in the same area the whole time, you can work around in front.

Loretta: And really get in it. And of course, have your hair down.

Ava: That will help. Have your hair down. Okay. We can show you the move without it, and then we’ll show you the move with it, so you can see the difference and how you can add to it. The basic move, you could just go down and up. Again, hands go on your hips, feet/shoulder width apart, and you just go down and up. One more time. Down and up.

We’re going to take this move, and we’re going to do the hair flick on four. It’s going to go one, two, three, hair flick. Yes. Basically, you just whip your hair. You whip your head, and then your hair is going to go along with it.

Ava: Let’s try it. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four. Okay? Basically, your head’s going in a circle, circle, circle. When you whip it, your hair is going to go along with it. Okay? And if that happens, like this, then you can just pull it out of your face nicely, like it’s a part of the move. Okay? Let’s try it again. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four. Yes. Then you can go five, six, seven, eight. Okay? Let’s try it again. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Awesome. And that’s how you do hairography.

Loretta: Hey, everyone, what’s up? My name is Loretta. This is my sister, Ava. We’re the Double Time Twins. And today we’re going to teach you to dance by yourself. So the two main things to remember when you’re dancing by yourself is to just have confidence and have fun doing whatever it is you’re doing. The cool thing about dancing by yourself is that you don’t have to do somebody else’s rhythm. You don’t have to work.

Ava: So if Loretta’s in a slow kind of groove, but you don’t feel like doing that groove, that’s totally fine because you’re dancing by yourself. So whatever groove you want to do, you can do. Okay, so Loretta’s going to demonstrate how you can dance by yourself on the dance floor. So, since you have the entire dance floor by yourself, you’re not going to stay in one box, right?

Loretta: Right.

Ava: So, Loretta’s going to show you how to dance in a box. No, a little box. Like if you didn’t have the whole dance floor, you would just stand in a box like this, because there’s other people around you, right? But you have the whole dance floor to yourself because you’re dancing by yourself. So, you’re going to use it. So, dance in a big box, like you have the whole dance floor, right?

Loretta: Alright.

Ava: Okay, so we go, step, together, step, together, step, together, step, together. So, we can go to the side first. Side, together. Then you can take it back. Back, together. Take it to the other side. Side, together. Then take it back up front. Stop, Front, together. Awesome, let’s do that again. Five, six, seven, eight. Step, together, take it back. Take it side. Take it front. Awesome. Alright, so, let’s do that faster as if we have the whole dance floor together.

Loretta: Well, you want to do that because I’m dancing by myself?

Ava: Right, Loretta can do it because she’s dancing by herself. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, you can turn while you’re doing it, too. Awesome, six, seven, eight. Remember, just have fun, own it, love it. You’re dancing by yourself, it’s your own groove.

Loretta: Hey everybody, what’s up? My name’s Loretta. This is Ava and this is Anthony.

Ava: Hi.

Anthony: How’s it going?

Loretta: Right now, we’re going to teach you three simple moves for beginners. If you’re a beginner and you haven’t really danced before…

Ava: Which is totally okay.

Loretta: Totally fine. The basic thing is just to have some confidence, even if you feel like you’re doing something wrong, but you look like you’re doing it right, you’re going to do it right, okay? First thing we do, we show you three simple, easy moves. We can just do a step — clap. Simple, easy; step — clap, step — clap, step — clap, step — clap.

What’s so great about this move is that we can make it bigger, bigger. Hey, hey, bring it up. We can bring it down, awesome. And you really just start it from here, step — clap, step — clap, step — clap, step — clap. So this is a simple move for beginners and you can really put your own groove and your own energy into it.

Ava: Once you get more comfortable, because that’s what dancing’s all about, right?

Anthony: So our second move, what we’re going to do is we’re going to step and drop the shoulder. It’s going to go one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. This is just a simple, cool, calm, and collected dance move that will get everybody dancing with you. You can put your own spin on it, too. We can go one drop, two drop, three drop, four drop.

Ava: Awesome. Awesome.

Loretta: Okay, I’m going to show you one more. We’re going to stand with our feet together. Our arms are going to come up, and we’re going to circle, circle. And while we’re doing that, we’re going to turn with our right.

So we’re going to go one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Easy, and just like the step — clap you can make it bigger, too. Let’s turn; five, six, seven, eight; one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight; awesome.

So those are three easy, simple dance moves for any beginner to do. Step — clap, step — clap, step — clap, step — clap, step — drop, step — drop, step — drop, step — drop, circle, circle, circle, circle; awesome.
