How to Dance like Beyonce

Transcript

Ava: Hi, everybody. I’m Ava. This is Loretta. We are the Double Time Twins, and right now we are going to teach you how to dance like Beyoncé. In her “End of Time” video, Beyoncé’s really more about being fierce.

Loretta: Fierce.

Ava: Sasha Fierce. She’s all about being fierce. It’s not necessarily that her choreography is difficult. It’s the energy that she brings to it. It’s really fierce. I’m trying to think of another word. It’s really fierce. OK. We’re going to teach you two types of eight where we can start to learn how to dance like Beyoncé.

Loretta: The first thing that we’re going to do is angle our body a little bit, and our hips are just going to go front and back, and you’re kind of shifting your weight a little bit, too, when you do that. We got one, two, three, snap, four, five, six, seven, snap, eight. Awesome. And make sure you have a slight bend in the knee, too, and really feel it. Even use your shoulder if you want to, too. Just make sure you bring your own fierceness into the move. Yes. She’s Sasha Fierce. You can be Ava Fierce.

Ava: Got it.

Loretta: However you want to do it. Again, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, snap, four, five, six, seven, snap, eight. Good. From here your back leg is going to come front, and you’re going to face the front again. One, good. Your arm comes up, and it’s bent here, and this one the same thing, opposite. We got one, and then you switch. Two, you switch. Three, and you stay here, and you just dig in a little deeper on four. Four. And we do it again. The same thing. One, two, three, four. Awesome.

Let’s do that kind of beat again from here. This leg comes out to the side, and your arms are up. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, and four, five, six, seven, and eight. Good. The key thing to remember when you’re doing this move is to be free, let your hair go, and just really be in it. OK? Let’s do that.

Ava: And whip your hair.

Loretta: OK. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, and four. Five, six, seven, and eight. Awesome. Let’s put that together. From here.

Ava: One, two, three, snap, four.

Loretta: Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, snap, four. Five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, and four. Five, six, seven, and eight. Awesome.

Ava: Let’s do that with the music.

Loretta: OK. Five, six, here. Five, six, seven, eight. And that’s how you dance like Beyoncé in the “End of Time” video.
