A: Do you think that I could balance a cup on a plate?
B: I don’t know. Can you?
A: Should I give it a shot? I’ll give it a shot. You ready?
B: Be careful.
A: It’s hard.
B: You did it!
A: Do you want to know how to do it?
B: Yes.
A: It’s a really cool trick. People think you have mad balancing skills. You hold the plate and you can even show the plate like this. Then when you go to put the cup on top, you move your thumb to over here.
B: To get a little extra balance.
A: So from behind you’re actually placing the cup right on top of your thumb and you’re balancing the two together like that. The smaller the plate the better it looks. This is quite a large plate, because that way your thumb is right in the middle of the plate.
B: Can I see?
A: Yeah, sure. You want to make sure that your thumb doesn’t peek out from on top.
B: Okay.
A: So that they don’t know it’s there.
B: People will be fooled.
A: Exactly.
B: Ta-da!
A: Ta-da! That’s how you balance a cup on a plate.
