How to Do a Reverse Helicopter B-Boy Dance Move

Transcript

Whassup, everybody. My name is Kid Glyde. I’m the leader of the Dynamic Rockers, pretty famous B-Boy. I travel around the world, I organize events. I’ve been dancing for 15 years. So I think I’m pretty credible to teach you. Be positive, be strong, let’s do it.

So now that you’ve learned the helicopter, we’re gonna learn the reverse helicopter. Same move, just backwards and it’s a little bit harder, so don’t get discouraged, all right?

So, our leg is straight and the same concept, remember, leaning forward, leaning back, leaning forward, leaning back. You want enough space for your leg to get through OK? That’s why I stress the whole, leaning forward, leaning back. So, once you lean forward, your leg’s going to kick all the way around, all right? And I know as a beginner, you’ll tend to bend your knee and just kick it through like that, and you’ll think you be hoppin, but you’re really not. So you want your leg to go all the way around-all the way around just like your sweeping the floor. All right? Bam!

Alright so, lean forward, lean back, forward, back, forward, back, forward, back. Also, you don’t want your foot touching the floor. The one that’s sweeping around, you don’t want it touching the floor at all. The whole time it’s in the air. Don’t forget to do it the other way. All right, same thing, left leg out, sweep the floor, lean forward, lean back, lean forward, lean back. Let’s do it with some music.

All right so, right leg straight, what we gonna do, we gonna lean forward alright? So forward, sweep your leg all the way around back, forward, back. If we want to get funky? Do it on one hand, bam! Boom. And that’s your reverse helicopter.
