What up y’all, my name is Tweet Boogie. I represent the South Bronx. Had my first hip hop crew at fourteen. Done some work with Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Destiny’s Child, traveled all over the world cause I teach hip hop culture and right now, I’m ready to teach you some dances for the club. Let’s get it started. Alright, so they got this new dance called the shuffle. Matter of fact, I’m gonna break it down to the basic of the basics. It’s called the T shuffle. You start like this, with your heels together, with your toes apart. But there’s two parts to this, so I’m gonna show you the right leg first. So, you want the toes to come in, good. See how your toes lift off the floor? Good. The heel is gonna lift off the floor next, boom. Let’s try that again. Toe’s off the floor, boom, good. Heel’s off the floor, same direction, boom, put the weight on the toe, boom, balls of the foot. So now, the second part: heels together, toes turned out, good. You’re gonna bring it up, up, and it comes down. Up, it comes down. Not en passe because this has nothing to do with ballet technique. Very respected, but this is a different dance, different dance style. Bring the foot up, it comes down. Bring the foot up, it comes down. Now, that’s two parts, we’re gonna try to pull these two parts together. So, as you bring the foot up, boom, don’t fall, like me, your toes have to come in, and you bring it down, boom. The toes open up, foot comes down. Let’s try that again. So, you bring the foot up, boom. Bring the heel together, boom. So, let’s try it a little faster. And, one, and, two, and, three, and, four. Your right leg will be diesel after this. So, let me get my DJ to drop the very slow beat. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Good! Let’s try that again, slow, five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Now, we’re gonna try it fast, one good time. Five, six, seven, eight. And one, and two. Did you fall? I didn’t fall. Six, seven, eight. And one, and two. There you have it. It’s the T shuffle y’all.

What up y’all? My name is Tweet Boogie, I represent the south Bronx. I had my first hip hop crew at 14. I’ve done some work with Jay Z, Mary J. Blige, Destiny’s Child. Travel all over the world because I teach hip hop culture and right now I’m ready to teach you some dances for the club. Let’s get it started.

Now you’re in a club and you’re at a party and all of a sudden you hear this music comes on. Now you feel like you’re on an island, so now the mood changes and now it’s no longer pop music and it’s no longer R & B and it’s no longer hardcore rap. Now, they have Jamaican music playing. Now, everybody’s doing this dance.

This dance is called the Wind. I’m going to teach you how to Wind and it’s actually from the dance style called dance hall.

So, what you want to do is feet apart, you want to bend your knees, got to get pretty low. Get pretty low so now, hands on your hips, so you want to take your hips to the right, to the right. Make sure you got a nice little arch so everybody can see your hips go to the right. They need to come forward, boom. Good. Now they need to come to the left, boom. Now they need to go back, boom. You can have your hands to guide you if you don’t know. Now you don’t want to use your entire body like you’re doing a hula hoop. You only want to isolate your hips so the deeper you sit, the better control that you should have on your hips. So they go to the right, to the front, to the left, to the back. Good, when the go to the back make sure you have an arch in your back ladies especially. Good, you don’t want to look like this, like you’re going to tip over. So once again. To the right, forward, left, to the back, and cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, dollar. Cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, dollar. Now you see me isolating my hips but it should be smooth. So you want to go in a singular, circular motion, good. And the deeper you sit, good. You can only move your hips, and this right here is Winding. You can drop your arms, make sure your low. Not too low, got to keep it tasteful. So, I need the DJ, to play my dance hall song. You got dance hall. And this is Sean Paul, but, when you so he’s not here either. So, you’re going to bend your knees, hands on your hips, good. Make sure it’s a nice deep bend, bounce. Five, six, seven, eight to the right, forward, to the left, to the back. Make sure you arch side, forward, to the left, to the right. And five, six, seven, eight and the right forward, left, back, right, forward. Left, back, now slow. And slow. You have to go through all of the positions, good. Now this is slow Wind. Slow Wind. Good, now you got to do it faster. And boom, and make sure it’s in a circular, movement boom. You can drop your arms, you can place them on your thighs, good. And you can lean back, not too far back, don’t fall. It’s a good workout for your thighs, but that’s pretty much it. And that there is how you Wind.

Traveled all the way over the world cause I teach hip hop culture. And right now, I’m ready to teach you some dances for the club. Let’s get it started. I personally think the best dances to do at a clubbasically just keep it really simple. I don’t think there’s any specific move. You can do a nice little two step, maybe from side to side. I think, especially if you’re going to meet somebody or if you like to go and go there with somebody on a date, definitely don’t be on the floor, don’t get too touchy touchy, grabby grabby, feely feely. I think taking somebody’s hand is really nice. I think it’s tasteful. I don’t think you need to go out and try to bust a move to try to impress somebody. Just as long as you keep the rhythm, most important because people don’t wanna dance with somebody that does not know how to dance. So if you don’t know how to dance, the worst thing that you can do is one, not try, and two, try to hard. So you really wanna just keep it simple. Find the beat, and men, just follow the women. Women have a natural, natural movement from side to side. Just follow their rhythm. You can never go wrong. Just stand there and look cute.

Traveled all over the world cause I teach hip hop culture and right now I’m ready to teach you some dances for the club. Let’s get it started.

So this style that I’m about to teach you right now is called popping. Arms up. Now, popping is basically a flex and release of the muscle. So, first we’re going to use our arms. Our arms, the parts that we’re gonna use, is our bicep and our forearm. Basically you want to make a muscle. Make a muscle‚Ķ and relax. Good. Release the muscle. You have to flex the muscle, make a muscle, and relax. Good. When you relax, make sure you’re completely relaxed. You have to relax this part of your body as well. So try it again. You wanna flex the bicep and the forearm at the same time. Try this again. So, flex, release, flex, release, flex, release, flex, release. Now you can do it at the same time. Flex, release, flex, release, flex, release, flex, release. There, that’s how you use your arms. You can also use your tricep which is the back of your arm. Now when your arm is straight you don’t want to lock the elbow, you want to leave it relaxed. So when it’s straight, boom, you want to flex the arm. Good. Ninety degree – bicep, forearm. Straight – you want to flex the tricep which is on the back of the arm. Good. No ballet arms, no manicures. Good.

No I’m going to show you your legs. So, wait a minute, wait for it. What you want to do is you want to use the quad in your legs. That’s the thigh muscle. You want to flex it just like this. Flex, flex, flex. At the same time, that leg needs to go back. The knee needs to go back, back, back. Good. But don’t do it and go down. Don’t change levels. Stay, it just needs to go back. So when you bend it, it comes in a neutral point. You understand, like a neutral level? And go back, back, back, back. When it comes back, that’s when you flex. Don’t try to flex when the knee goes out. That’s a forward pop and we only want to do the back pop. Good. Back, back, back. So now, we have to do both the right leg and the left leg at the same time. So you’re flexing both right and left. Make sure after you flex you release the muscle. If you don’t release it you’re going to walk away like this. Very stiff, and it’s not a good feeling.

So, let’s try to put them both together, arms and legs. So, here we go. Both arms, and legs. So 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2. Make sure that you are using the leg muscle. Do not just bring your knees back because you could insure yourself and we want less, settle settle, injury, so try it again. So, we’re going to this step, it’s called the Fresno. Boom, boom. Good. You want to shift from right to left. Right side, left side. Make sure the arm that’s down, this arm does not go on a vacation. It doesn’t be lazy, it doesn’t go to sleep, doesn’t go on a cruise. You need to use it as well. So, both body parts, all four body parts, are being utilized. So try it again. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

Now, we’re going to put it to some music so you can see, “”well how can I do that at a party, or at a block party, or in a club, or with a partner””? DJ! Uh oh, ay, let’s go. 5, 6, 5, 6, 7, slow, 1, 2, 1, 2. You have to use both arms and both legs. Good. That’s slow, now mid tempo. Here we go, 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2. Good. Notice how I shift my weight from side to side. Good. You don’t want to go down, up, down, up. You want to shift from side to side. Your legs are still going back. Back, back, back, back. Here we go. Good! And that’s how you pop.

Drop, drop, lets’ go, and, and step, and, and step, to the right and, to the left. So now that we’re doing it slow. This is nice cool, calm, and sexy. You don’t want to sweat your hair out. What up, y’all, my name is Tweet Boogie. I represent the South Bronx, had my first hip-hop crew at 14, done some work with Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Destiny’s Child; travel all over the world ’cause I teach hip-hop culture, and right now I’m ready to teach you some dances for the club. Let’s get it started. So now, before we even get to anything else, I need to help you find the beat. So the first thing you need to do when you hear a song – tap your foot. So I would tell you to clap and dance and do everything on the snare but if you don’t know what that is, a good way to find it is tap your foot. Good. Then, what you want to do is count, on, 1 2, 1 2, 1 2, 1 2. Good! So now I’m gonna clap. But when you clap, you gotta clap on a 2. Just like this, so 1 2, 1 2, 1 2, 1 2. Or, you can snap your fingers. 1 2, 1 2, 1 2, 1 2. You gotta look cool so you don’t wanna go in the club lookin’ like this. That’t not gonna work. But a good way to find a beat; take away the tap. Good! Now you got the beat. Now, you can clap. Boom, boom, drop it like it’s hot. Good, or snap your fingers. Good. You can’t stand here and dance with no music. 5, 6, 7, 8…. gotta tap that foot, gotta tap that foot. Tap, so you tap the foot, you count. 1 2, 1 2, 1 2, 1 2. And on the 2, that’s when you clap. 5, 6, 7, 8. 1 2, 1 2, 1 2, 1 2, now, you can either snap. 5, 6, 7, 8. Snap, 2, 1 2, 1 2, 1 2. Good! Now take away the foot! 5, 6, 7, 8. 1 2, 1 2, 1 2, 1 2, 1 2, 1 2, 1 2, 1 2. Basically that’s it. Finding the beat.

What up y’all my name is Tweet Boogie, I represent the South Frogs. I had my first hip hop crew at 14. Done some work with Jay Z, Mary J. Blige, Destiny’s Child. Travelled all over the world because I teach hip hop culture and right now I’m ready to teach you dances for the club, let’s get it started. OK, so this is finding the beat head nod. I’m going to turn to the side so you can see; it’s not like this, straight forward, it’s kind of at an angle, good. Kind of going down. So you have forward, forward, forward, forward; but at the same time you want to bend your knees. Forward, forward, forward, forward. forward, forward, forward, forward. Now, you also have a head nod the goes to the back. So, back, back, back, back. But you don’t want to stand there and look like this. Good, so you have to use your knees. So, when you use your knees, the other one, your knees are bending. But for when your head nod is back, you have to straighten your knees. So you have back, and back, and back, and back. You see how my knees are straightening when my head goes back. Good, and back, and back, and back, and back. But that’s slow, so I’m going to show you mid tempo, then I’m going to show you fast; soon as my DJ drops it. Five, six, seven, eight. So, we’re going to go forward slow, five, six, seven, eight and bend, bend your knees, bend, bend your knees, bend. See how my head goes forward at an angle, boom, boom, boom. Same time I’m bending my knees when it goes forward. So now I’m going to do it fast, and boom, and boom, and forward, and forward. Good, but now I’ve got to do it back. So, back, back, mid tempo. Back, and back. Make sure you’re straighten the knees when the neck goes back. Back, so five, six, seven, eight, boom, and boom, and back. Five, six, seven, eight. Back, good. Back, back, and back, back, back, back. So, that’s your basic head nod going forward and going back.

What up ya’ll? My name is Tweet Boogie. I represent the South Bronx. Had my first hip-hop crew at fourteen. Done some work with Jay-Z, Mary J Blige, Destiny’s Child. Travel all of the world ’cause I teach hip-hop culture and right now I’m ready to teach you some dances for the club. Let’s get it started. So now I’mma teach you a basic club move and we’re gonna call this the forward shimmy. It looks like this: boom, boom, step, and step forward, boom. Let me break that down to you. So you take your left foot and you step forward–boom. As you bring your right foot forward you’re going to bend your knees and bring the right foot forward. So–Boom. Now you’re going to take the right foot step back–boom, two. Try it again. So take your left foot forward–boom. Bend your knee–boom. Bring your right foot to your left foot. Bring it back. One foot at a time. So now where does the shimmy come in? So the shimmy comes in when you step back and when you step forward. So let me break down the shimmy. Shimmy, shimmy shimmy shimmy. All it is is that your shoulders are coming forward. Not like this. So, forward, forward, forward, forward. Now this is not a feminine dance and it’s not a masculine dance but I’mma show you two different ways. For females–boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Keep your arms down–boom, boom, boom. One and two and three and four, five and six and seven and eight. So you can look cute; hair doesn’t sweat out; you’re good. Now males, you might not want to shimmy so much but just enough so the female can feel like ya’ll are doing the same dance and you like “Oh my God we look so cute together.” So, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. You might wanna lean back and that’ll be more of the males. Boom boom. Make sure you’re looking at her in the eye when you’re coming forward. And shimmy shimmy shimmy. Ladies, shimmy a little bit more. You wanna put that arch in the back–boom boom. But now we’re going to try it with the music. DJ! Uh-oh. They playin’ my song. So here we go. So five, six, slow, seven, eight and one and two and three and four, five and six and seven, eight. Ladies don’t stop shimmying. Shimmy shimmy shimmy. So here we go. Five six seven eight. One two three four five six seven eight. One two three four five six seven eight. Keep your shoulders going! You can keep your arms and keep your hands on your thighs and bring ’em up. Bring ’em out! Good! There’s your forward shimmy.

“Welcome you all. My name is Tweet Boogie. I represent the south ,have my first hip hop at 14, done some work with jay Z, Mary j blige, Stephanie chao, travelled all over the world because i see hip hop culture and right now I am ready to teach you some dances for the club. Lets start. So everybody at the club, everybody wants to know how to grind,so i got my partner here,””U ready””, “”I am ready””, he is ready to grind. so you have a lady and you have a gentleman, he should stand behind the female and basically this is when there is a connection, now you can grind when it be very intimate, i understand, but it doesn’t always need to be crunchy,it could be very tasteful, right. No need to be a whole lot of touchy feeling when you are grinding,it can be a nice grind especially when you don’t know the feeling. “”I don’t know you don’t touch me””. But this is how you could make the connection, so we are very intimate. We both bend on knees.Good. Now our waists are gona go in the same circular motion. So its gona go around and around and around and around. Now he may lean to the left and you may lean to the right with the same circular motion. So we gona go,around and around and around and around especially if you don’t know the guy, you don’t want to be all upon him, so you might gona lean to the side so that you still can show him that like i do wana dance with you but i don’t want to all upon you. “”I got you””. “”He got me””. ok. So we gona try this really slow with music so you can understand the concept of what grinding is.

“”Dance with song””

Now remember it can be very intimate but it doesn’t have to be crunchy. We need to do the grind very tastefully especially “”I know you””,””Respect the women””. “”Yes,respect the lady””. Thank you”

Okay so now, I know one of the most popular dances that was created on the west coast is how to jerk. So I’m going to stand at an angle so you can see my feet better. So the first thing you want to do is you want to hop on the left leg. Hop on the left leg and you want to kick out with the right leg. Boom. Right? Now, you want to take the left leg and you want to hop forward, but at the same time, you want this right leg to go back. Boom. Good. Now, you gotta hop again, this right foot is going to come down, as it comes down, you’re going to kick this left leg out, boom. So let’s try this again. So you going to bring this back, and this leg is going to jump forward, and then you going to scoop under, boom, and hop again. Boom. and 1, and forward, and forward, and, forward. So let’s try this again slow. So, you going to kick out the right leg, hop on it. Good. You wanna jump on the left leg, bring that forward. This leg is going to come back. Boom. then you going to plant this right foot and kick the left leg out. You wanna hop towards the front. Good. Upper body. Boom. Like you going “”unh””. Just a little bit – not a lot. Let’s try this again. So, kick and 1, and 2, and 3, and 4, and 5, and 6 and 7 and 8. Good. Now that’s done really slow, let’s try and speed this up. 6, 7, 8 and 1, and 2, and 3, and 4 and 5, and 6 and 7 and 8. So, let me show you what it looks like with music. DJ, drop it on ’em. So let’s try it slow. 5,6,7,8. Hop, back, hop, back, hop, back, same time. Boom. Two different things going on, so: 1,2,1,2,1,2, you gotta hop up, you gotta think up, you can’t think down, so you can’t go down, down, you gotta think up, and 6,7, and up and up and up and up. So now, let’s pick up the tempo. Are YOu ready? Cuss them haters, cuss my haters, so 5,6, here we go, 5,6,7,8, out in out in out in out in out in, ooh put the swag on it, take the hair out my mouth, here we go. Hop. Wanna try it again? Last time, last time slow, and then fast, one more time. 6,7,8, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. Good. Now let’s try that fast, are you ready, are you with me? 6,7,8, hey. Hey you could put your hands on your hips, up, up, up, up up up up up. Good. Pose. Good. There it is, y’all. How to jerk.”

Blige, Destiny’s Child, traveled all over the world cause I teach hip-hop culture, and right now I’m ready to teach you some dances for the club. Let’s get it started. So, my time to shine, sexy dance moves for women. Ladies, we’re going to do the dip, and move your hip. Right? So, I need your feet together, and I’m going to stand at an angle so you can see it. So, feet together, place your hands on your thighs, and bend your knees. You might want to arch just a little bit. Just a little bit to keep the silhouette cute. So what you’re going to do is bend your knees, and as you bend your knees your hips are going to go to the right. Boom. And, we’re going to dip again, and you’re going to go to the left. Dip to the left. You see how I’m still arched? You don’t want to be straight because then you look surprised, ooh. So you want to stay arched. So you want to dip again. Dip again to the left. Dip again to the right. I’m going to try my sexy moves on my partner over here. So come on over here to me. Good. Are you ready?

I’m ready.

So, OK, usually when a guy watches a female do this dip, there’s really nothing that he would do except for a two-step, which would be from side to side. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. So really you let the female do all the work. But don’t just stand there looking at her, gawking at her. So you got to do a simple two-step, right? Boom. So we’re going to try this with music so I can get my sexy on. DJ! Good, so now I’m going to take it low on him. Good. Make sure that you keep the arch in your back. Good, and dip, dip, dip, dip, dip. Good, I think my partner is dipping with me. Yes he is! Good, dip, dip, dip, dip. You might want to look at him. How you doing? Yeah he’s back there. So that was your sexy dance move for women. So what’d you think?

It was great.

It was great, of course, it was great.

Blige, Destiny’s child, traveled all over the world cause I teach hip-hop culture, and right now, I’m ready to teach you some dances for the club. Let’s get started. This segment would be getting a guy to dance from a girl’s perspective. So ladies, say you want to get on the dance floor, but your guy doesn’t necessarily want to dance yet. So how do you get him to come on the dance floor? First off, you hear your song, and you’re looking at him, and he’s looking at you, but you don’t really know for sure if he really wants to dance. And you’re like, “”Come on!”” So you take him by the hand, and you try to pull him in. But you have to back up. A nice way to do it is doing the two-step. So you’ve got to back up and pull him in. But say there’s a big distance between you and he doesn’t really want to move, you’ve got to come to him. Good. You’ve got to get a little close. Good. Maybe turn around. Good. Now you’ve got to back it up. Now you’ve got him really excited, and you’ve got him interested and wanting to dance with you on the dance floor. So now we’re going to try this with music, so that you are sure to know that this will work. So let’s try this again. DJ. So, this is my song, oh I want to dance, this is my song. So he sees that this is your song. Oh let’s dance sweetie, come on.

No, I don’t know, I don’t know.

Oh come on, please?

I’m kind of tired, I had a long day.

You’re tired? Better wake you up.

Ok.

There you go. You do a little turn. There you go. Go. Now you’ve got to real him in. Now he wants to dance with you. Good. And you can turn around. Good. Since he’s your sweetheart, aw. Thank you lovey for dancing with me, but now I’m going to drop it like it’s hot. Anyway, that is a good way to get a guy on the dance floor.

I teach the hip hop culture, and right now I’m ready to teach y’all some dances for the club. Let’s get it started. I know many of you are loving the miss, the wonderful, Shakira. So right now, I’m going to show you how to dance like Shakira. The most famous action that she has is going on with all of this area right In here. It’s her hip action. So, what you need to do is stand to the side. Good. So we’re going to use this right hip. I’ve only got one right hip, so I’m going to use this one. So I’m going to bend my knees. Good. We’re going to have feet planted together. Good. Have your arms in front of you. Good. Then, you want to take your hips, and you want to swing it to the right. Boom. So the accent is always to one side. Not left-right, so it’s not left-right, left-right. Don’t do that one. What you want to do is just keep it to one area. Bend your knees, arms in front of you. Get good fists in front of you, and you want to lift your hips to the right. Boom. They want to lift up, not just outward, but up. Boom. And to up. And to up. And to up. So, we’re going to try that again. Knees bent, arms in front, and hip to the right. Hip, hip, so my hips don’t lie. So, now, I’m going to show you how to travel in a circle. So your knees are bent. You have your arms together. Fists are together, in front of you, and your hips are going to come to the right. As they come to the right, you’re going to hit up. Boom. Good. And then, you’re going to bring your hips down. As they come up again, you’re going to take a step. Step. Bring the knee up, and press down. Boom. And then you twist the hips. Try it again. So, you have knees bent, bring up that foot, and press down. So it’s just a little stomp so you can travel around. So, you have stomp, stomp, stomp, stomp. My hips don’t lie, but DJ, I’m going to need you to drop the beat, so we can all do it. So, not exactly the tempo or the type of music that you would use at home. I know Shakira uses a lot of Latin music, but this is what we’re going to deal with for today. So, 5, 6, 5, 6, 7, 8. 1, 2, 3, 4. So try it again. 6 and 7, 8, and 1, 2, 3, 4. Good. Now let’s try it a little bit faster. 5, 6, 7 and 8. 1, 2, 3, 4. Good. Let’s try it one more time. 5, 6, 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, 3, 4. Now, ladies, you can go out, and show them how your hips don’t lie.
