How to Do a Bachata Body Roll & Power Stomp for Men

Transcript

Batata for men, this pattern is going to cover a couple of key concepts, like the body roll, power stomp and a couple of other cool little things for you guys. So we’re going to start with just doing the basic step. We’re going to go one, two, three tap, five, six, seven tap. We’re going to change the direction now, send it forward one, two, three and miro, five, six, seven tap. One, two, three tap, five, six basic to the left. One, two turn to the right, five, six, seven body roll down, body roll up and we’re done.

Let’s talk about the body roll first. Gentlemen, a good way to practice this is just look in the mirror, stand sideways and make sure you that start with your chin. to create the effect that it’s traveling all the way from the top to the bottom. So now we’re going to do the chest. The chest drops. Your belly starts to roll in. You use your abs and when you get to the last point, you drop your pelvis and that causes the reaction of the roll.

The illusion is you start from the chin, hit the chest and the pelvis, and everything in the middle will still flow. So you’re going to go one, three and then the reverse body roll gentlemen, is the exact opposite. So you’re going to start in sitting form and you’re going to push your waist forward, belly forward, chest forward and to create the illusion that it travels all the way up, we left up the chin.

So all together it’s going to go one, two, three five, six, seven. Take your time gentlemen, to practice. Make sure you look in the mirror. If you want, record yourselves so that you that can see what you look like, until you build some confidence. Now with the pattern. We’re going to go one, two, three tap, five, six, seven tap. Stomp two, three tap, stomp six, seven tap. Stomp, two three tap, basic to the left, tap. Turn to the right, five, six, seven. One, two, three five, six and seven.

Now gentlemen, when you feel confident make sure you play around with different energy when you’re doing the roll or a different speed. One, two, three, four. Now let’s demonstrate it with some music. Make sure that you feel really relaxed. You do your turn, you prep. Down up, and hold. Now I’m going to do the one with the longer body roll. Three, five, six, seven tap and one, and one, two, three. Five, six and seven tap, and one. That is your bachata pattern for men.
