EntertainmentHow to Dance Ballet

How to Get a Ballet Dancer’s Body

Transcript

My name is Maegan Woodin, and I’m a professional dancer, choreographer, teacher and student. I have danced for MTV, Diana Ross, Marc Jacobs and have appeared in many music videos. You can find more information about me and my career, as well as photos and videos, at www.dgtnyc.com. I’m going to be talking to you about ballet.
Here are a few tips that will help you get a ballet dancers body. The first is, make sure that you have a well-balanced, healthy diet. This will help increase muscle strength, and give you energy to have a work-out. The second thing is that make sure that you start to take a ballet class. The muscles that you will strengthen in ballet, are very different than any other work-out. You create allot of strength in your back, and also your glutes and your inner thighs that you do not create in any other sport. If your currently a dancer in any other dance style, you should make sure that you take ballet on a regular basis. This will give you strength and endurance, and also help stabilize those muscles that you’ve created. If your not a dancer, you can start off by taking ballet bar at any sort of dance school. You should look for schools that offer beginner dance classes, and you can get the training, and right training you need, to start as a beginner. Unlike the gym or running, these muscles are very different, and can be established when you take a bar consistently.
