Speaker 1: So, right now we’re going to bring to you another fun dance all dance, called the willy bounce and the wacky dip. This is a fun, two-part dance. So, we are going to start with the willy bounce first, and slim, sexy Damian is going to demonstrate how you do the willy bounce.

With the willy bounce, you just rock from left to right. Rock, rock, add the foot. Now you’re going to add the arms. So, left arm up and then sway from left to right. Sway, sway. Now we are going to add the dip to it. Wacky dip, and dip. Wacky dip. All right. So, it’s left, right and dip. Left, right and dip. Make sure you use those legs as well. All right. Now just willy bounce.

Willy bounce to the side. So you’re going to rotate. So just move. Sway, sway. There you go. Bring it low. Have fun with it. Bring it low and keep moving those arms left to right. Keep moving those arms. You could stretch the arms out. Extend the arms. There you go. And you could double your movement too. Now double, and double. And double. And make sure you keep moving your legs. Everything is in sync with each other. So you keep moving right to left. Extend those arms. Add a dip. Wacky dip. Two-part dance. Wacky dip.

Speaker 2: This one is one of my favorite. This is one of my favorite dance from another dancer. This one was created by the late, great, Mr. Walkee, A.K.A. Gerald Levee. You know that what I mean. That man right there singlehandedly took the dancing aspect to a whole another level. Mr. Bogle. So, in this one, the willy bounce, this was the last one that he did. And this one was a smash. You know what I mean, because this dance move, it came in, and it added more levels to the Jamaican dance aspect. You have the feet up here. And then you have the arms going across. So that’s two more levels.

And then you have the dip. Dip, dip, dip. So that one, is called the willy bounce, which was, one more point though, a tribute to the late Willy Haggart. That was Bogle’s best friend, so there’s a lot of connection in that dance move. All right. Willy bounce.

We’re going to bring to you another dance time move which is called the Rubber Bounce. So Damon here is going to demonstrate how we do the Rubber Bounce. So with the Rubber Bounce, it’s a lot of foot work. So first, we’re going to start. Whatever foot that you want to start out with, and you step out with that foot on your tiptoe, and you hop up on the next leg. So Rubber Bounce, you step out, step out, hop, step, hop, step, hop. Then you’re going to crouch down, bend your back a little bit, and accentuate the movement. Make the movement big, so you can see the actual dance.

This one, just like how the re-bounce was the last from Mr. Booger. The Rubber Bounce is the last dance from the great ice, RIP. You know what I mean, big-up Roses. Yeah. But this one is a creation from ice himself. It’s called the Rubber Bounce. …

But you step out, step out with the right, and hop. Right, and hop. Rubber Bounce. …

You want to be real at them feet, then keep that bounce. Now remember, as I said earlier, always get to the groove of the music first. Once you have the groove of the music, then everything else falls right into place. . .

. . .You understand?

…..Move comes smooth.

Everything has to come smooth.

It’s all about having a vibe, and connecting with the music.

Speaker 1: So the next move that we’re going to show you is called a scatter step. Well Damien is going to demonstrate how to do the scatter step. So the scatter step is all about the leg movement. So you’re going to twist, twist, and then extend the leg. So twist, twist, extend. Twist, extend. And twist, and the arms, you go back with it, the arms, and then you bring the arms forward.

So it’s twist, extend the right, twist, extend. Twist, extend, twist, extend. This is a simple, simple dance hall move. Just have fun, you can add your own spice to it. Have fun with it, you can cross the legs over and move around with it.

Speaker 2: All right, scatter step. It’s one more creation of, all right. Well the scatter step, basically, is due to the fact that we’re making more than one out of that. Because you know dance hall mostly is either top on your toe or on your heel. But with the scatter step it kind of mix up everything. So cuz it, mixing everything, so, it’s not just a one tap or a two tap, it’s scattered. You’re all over the place, you know what I mean. So you’re on your toes, at one point, and this is the entire feet, scatter, scatter. Scatter step, scatter step.

Okay, so that was your dance hall move, scatter step.

And make sure you’re using those legs too. Keep everything in sync with each other. That’s the Block Them Out. And you’re going to twist your body, twist your torso when you’re blocking them out. All right? Them arms, it goes up and down and then you twist to the next side. Make sure that leg is moving. You always keep one leg straight but make sure you always twist the other leg. Block them Out. So now Slim Sexy and Damien are doing an advanced level of Block Them Out.

Speaker 1: So the next move Damion is going to demonstrate is the Bad Man Forward, Bad Man Pull-up. So with the Bad Man Forward, Bad Man Pull-up, you’re again moving every single part of your body at the same time. You’re going to start with the legs. What he’s doing with the legs is he’s turning the legs out and it’s like in a high knee position so he’s moving the legs right to left in a high knee position and he’s leaning back a little bit. Then he’s going to pull-up, so pull-up, Bad Man Forward, Bad Man Pull-up, Bad Man Forward, Bad Man Pull-up. Leg movement, pull-up with the arm. All right?

Speaker 2: Bad Man Forward, Bad Man Pull-up, the reason why it gets it’s name Ding Dong the creator of this dance. Bad Man Forward, Bad Man Pull-up is basically a dance mimicking the toughs of Jamaica. Because the toughs in Jamaica, they do dance. You know what I mean? It’s more in the Bad Man form. All right? So Bad Man Forward, the toughs of Jamaica when they like to hear their song played, this is how they react to it. It’s a bounce and then they reach up. And then to add a dance element to it is where you put more bounce.

Speaker 1: And you move up with it. Add some style to it. Lean back, arms up, trigger finger up. Got to add it. There you go. Bad Man Forward, Bad Man Pull-up. Also with this, you also move in levels so you can bring it down low, bring it back up, lean back with it. Extend the arms. You can wave the arms. Make sure you wave the arms. Just exaggerate the dance move. Have fun with it.

Speaker 2: That was?

Speaker 1: Bad Man Forward, Bad Man Pull-up.

A: Right now Damien’s going to demonstrate how to do the Row the Boat. So with the Row the Boat, you start with the legs. So you’re going to twist. Twist the leg and the feet and if you could stay on your toes and twist that would be really good. Then we’re going to add the arms and with the arms it’s like you have a paddle and you’re moving. Moving that boat with a paddle. All right? Then you’re going to add a jump to it. Now jump, row the boat, jump, row the boat. So you stand, and you’re on the ocean and you’re rowing that little boat.

Damien: All right, now all together.

A: So where’d the Row the Boat come from Damien, huh? Row the Boat?

Damien: Row the Boat basically is a dance where, some think it’s a fun dance for immigrants because they are always making fun of Jamaicans saying that they came over on boats so they just made a dance out of it like it’s no biggie. Row like a boat.

A: When you’re rowing the boat, you come up when you hop, you come up on your toes. Row the Boat. Come up on your toes. Come up on your toes. You can go to the side. Add some style to it. Turn around. Have fun with it. Bring it low. Keep rowing.

Damien: Add the double paddles. Double paddles. Row, row.

Woman: So right now we’re gonna show you the next dance hall move which is called the Higher Level. Slim Sexy and Damien are gonna demonstrate a fun new dance. Well not new, but a fun dance called the Higher Level.

What you see here is Slim Sexy and Damien rockin’ from left to right. They’re tapping. Tapping their toe point from left to right. And now they’re gonna add the arms. And with the arms they just move it in a circular motion. Move it in a circular motion and then extend the arms up like you’re pushing the sky. Push, push, rotate, push, rotate. And everything is moving at the same time.

You’re tapping your feet from left to right, you’re moving those hands in a circular motion and you’re pushing the sky.

So it’s pretty easy. It’s a simple dance hall move which is fun and it’s also a good workout for the arms as well. So you’re pushing the sky. And also you can bring it down, too. Push it down. Push the floor. Push the floor and keep tapping. Keep tapping. Right. Left. Tap those toes and rotate the arms. Rotate the hands and push, push. Bring it up. Pump. Pump the sky. There you go. And that’s what we call the Higher Level.

Damien: Higher level [indecipherable 00:01:25] for that one. You know what I mean? But yeah, the Higher Level. You know what I mean, how we say, “dance and life. Right? So with the Higher Level now, this can apply to life. No one wants to stay in the same place every day. You need to climb. Every day you need to go in a higher level, a higher level, a higher level, a higher level. So wake up in the morning, this should be your dance of choice. You can decide to get yourself on that higher plane. You know what I mean? So you get up every morning. Higher level, that’s what you’re reaching for. A higher level. Higher level.

Woman: Alright? So that’s another hot dance hall move called the Higher Level.
