How to Do the Willy Bounce in Reggae Dancehall

Transcript

Speaker 1: So, right now we’re going to bring to you another fun dance all dance, called the willy bounce and the wacky dip. This is a fun, two-part dance. So, we are going to start with the willy bounce first, and slim, sexy Damian is going to demonstrate how you do the willy bounce.

With the willy bounce, you just rock from left to right. Rock, rock, add the foot. Now you’re going to add the arms. So, left arm up and then sway from left to right. Sway, sway. Now we are going to add the dip to it. Wacky dip, and dip. Wacky dip. All right. So, it’s left, right and dip. Left, right and dip. Make sure you use those legs as well. All right. Now just willy bounce.

Willy bounce to the side. So you’re going to rotate. So just move. Sway, sway. There you go. Bring it low. Have fun with it. Bring it low and keep moving those arms left to right. Keep moving those arms. You could stretch the arms out. Extend the arms. There you go. And you could double your movement too. Now double, and double. And double. And make sure you keep moving your legs. Everything is in sync with each other. So you keep moving right to left. Extend those arms. Add a dip. Wacky dip. Two-part dance. Wacky dip.

Speaker 2: This one is one of my favorite. This is one of my favorite dance from another dancer. This one was created by the late, great, Mr. Walkee, A.K.A. Gerald Levee. You know that what I mean. That man right there singlehandedly took the dancing aspect to a whole another level. Mr. Bogle. So, in this one, the willy bounce, this was the last one that he did. And this one was a smash. You know what I mean, because this dance move, it came in, and it added more levels to the Jamaican dance aspect. You have the feet up here. And then you have the arms going across. So that’s two more levels.

And then you have the dip. Dip, dip, dip. So that one, is called the willy bounce, which was, one more point though, a tribute to the late Willy Haggart. That was Bogle’s best friend, so there’s a lot of connection in that dance move. All right. Willy bounce.
