How to Do the Coin through the Elbow Magic Trick

Transcript

Man: You guys want to see something cool with a coin?

Boy: Yeah.

Man: All right — my grandfather actually showed me this one, right? All you do is, you take a coin right? And you just rub it from one elbow to the other. This is a really cool trick that my grandfather showed me, all right? All you do is you take a quarter, and you just [popping sound] pop it into one elbow, and you pull it right through to the other. What do you guys think?

Boy: It’s very cool.

Man: Was that pretty cool?

Boy: Cool.

Man: Do you guys want to know how to do it? All right, let’s find out. This is a really easy one. All you’re going to do is, you’re going to do a move called the false transfer, which we have a video on. I recommend you watch it if you want to learn how to do that move properly. But in short, I’m making it look like the coin is travelling in the one hand, when really it’s actually staying in this one, right? That’s it. That’s the move, right there. I’m actually keeping this coin in finger palm position, which I also go over in the false transfer section. And I keep it hidden down here, and I don’t draw attention to it, right? I draw attention right here, and I just rub the coin [popping sound] into the elbow, and I pull it out right there. Now, the way you’re going to kind of sell this one is, as you’re going up to pull the coin out of your elbow, what you want to do is you want to push out with your thumb, so it appears right at the fingertips, right? So you start with the coin there, you put it into this hand. You pop it through to one elbow, and you pull it right through to the other. And that’s how you pull a coin from one elbow to the other. You start with the coin. You put it over here so you can roll up the sleeves. You do it over here, so you can roll up this sleeve, then you pop it into that elbow, and you pull it right out of this one. I’ll do it slow. Are you ready? Take the coin, put it right over there. [popping sound] Run it through there, and pull it right out.
