Hey, guys. I just wanted to talk to you guys about roulette strategy. There are plenty of ways that you can tackle this game and no way is more right than the other. I’ll just go into some methods.
What a lot of players like to do, especially newer players, what they prefer to do, is they’ll come up to a table with a certain amount of chips that they may have gotten from playing Blackjack or Craps or whatever. They’ll come up to the table and play $20 on red. There will usually be a big board on there saying what numbers came out, what colors there were, and everything like that. So, a player will come up and bet $20 on red because he thinks red is coming up or red is due or something like that. That’s one way to tackle it.
Then you have another strategy, which I’m not really a big fan of but a lot of people are, where they basically grind. Where they will put money on 2 2:1 bets, either the dozens or one of the columns. Basically, they’ll just sit and wait. So what happens here is that they’ll put $15 on the first 12 then the third 12 with the hopes that even if they lose one, as long as they don’t lose both they’re okay. If it comes up in the first 12, then they’re going to get paid 2:1. They’re only going to lose $15 so they make $15. Or if it comes up in the third 12, then they’re going to get $30 then they’re going to lose $15 here. But one of the problems with that is what happens if it lands on second 12 and I take them both. Also, we have the 0 and 00. Those are neither first 12, second 12, or third 12. So if one of those comes up then you lose also.
You’ve got a lot of other players and what they’ll generally do, and they have their favorite numbers. You can really choose whichever numbers you like. Some people go with birthdays. Mine would be 9/17. Or people go with the date, or “Okay, my son’s 28 years old.” Or they’ll go with, “Okay, my favorite numbers are 7 and 11.” You can pick whichever numbers you want or whichever way. It just matters that if the ball lands in your number or your series of numbers, you’re good.
The way I generally like to play is I like to bet the corners. I’ve mentioned it in another video. With that it pays 8:1, so you spin the wheel and 13 comes up then I get paid 8:1. So now I’ve got $8 from this 1 that now I’ll just try to go for a streak where I’ll maybe triple up or keep it in the same spot or something else. But then if this hits again, or even if it doesn’t, I’ve still made a couple of dollars. If it hits then I get another $24. Then maybe I’ll triple it up again and try to maximize the money in a short period of time.
But no way is right because there’s always the 5.3% house edge on the game. With the exception to this bet here, which is called the Top Line. Very few people actually bet this bet, it’s the 5 numbers. It pays 6:1. The numbers are kind of off compared to everything else that roulette pays. The house edge on that is actually pushing about 8%. So by one strategy, if you’re going to play roulette, don’t make this bet. Otherwise, good luck to you.
