Ashle: Hey. This is Ashle and Henri, and today we’re going to show you how to do an easy Zouk circle. We’ll demonstrate it first, and then we’ll break it down.
Henri: Here we go. So we start with the basic. One, three, four, five, seven and, dun, chick, chick, dun. And we do circle. Chick, chick, dun, chick, chick, dun, chick, chick, dun, chick, chick, one. So that’s the move that we’re going to demonstrate. It’s really simple. If you watched the videos before, we talked about the rhythm of Zouk. Right? So we start with slow, quick, quick, and slow, quick, quick. Dun, chick, chick, dun, chick, chick. So that’s the feeling of the rhythm. Okay. All we want to do in this move is grab your partner ad just go around toward your right. Now you want to picture there’s an axis between you and your partner. Right? So you don’t want to be walking around the lady, but you want to basically take her with you with the right arm, and you would now bring her around. So without the rhythm, this is going to look like. Just pull them around. Yeah. And relax and just go around. Ladies, you’re going to feel the guys pulling you around. Okay? So let me show you with the rhythm. So it’s going to go like this. One, three, four, five, seven and, dun, chick, chick, dun, chick, chick, dun, chick, chick, dun, chick, chick, dun. In other words you can say, left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, and we’re going to the left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, left, right, left.
Ashle: And obviously for the girls, it’s just the opposite. So we start with the right. And when you feel your gentleman leading you, don’t try and resist it. Just go with it. Once you feel that he’s taking you into that circle, just allow him to lead you into it and relax. It’s an intimate moment. You’re just relaxing. You’re enjoying the music, and you’re moving the hips.
Henri: Chick, chick, dun, chick, chick, dun. Of course, when you get more advanced with this move, you can go faster in your circle. Right? So let’s try it with the music for you so that we can all practice together. As usual in Zouk, we have some slow music so you want to start working in slowing down. Okay. With the basic in place.
