How to Make Pool Trick Shots with Andy Segal

Transcript

Hi, I’m Andy, the “Magic Man” Segal. I’m here at Willow Billiards here in Hoboken, New Jersey doing some trick shots. I’m currently the number 1 ranked player in the world for trick shots. I’m the current world champion, two time ESPN Magic Champion, three time Master’s Champion, three time World Cup of Trick Shots Champion. I’ve performed in various countries Russia, Hong Kong, Ukraine, obviously the United States. So I like to entertain, I like to play pool, I like to do trick shots, and trick shots is really a way to do both, entertain people and compete playing pool. I also run, run an APA league, which is Amateur Pool League, 8 ball and 9 ball. It’s part of the American Pool Players Association. We run that here out of Will Billiards. We have a whole bunch of players, a whole bunch of teams. The players play every night during the week usually and they have a great time. I started getting into trick shots when I met Mike Massey, and he kind of intro’d me into the trick shot world. Started competing, and once I started competing at trick shots that was the end of my 9 ball days. I’ve been doing trick shots probably since 2002, about 10 years, and I’ve been playing pool since high school, which is longer than I care to remember. What we’re going to do here is I’m going to try and teach you some of the tricks. Most of them I invented myself. A lot of them are classic trick shots that I’ve either just are using or I’ve adapted to my style, and I’m going to try and show you some of those tricks. In addition, I’m going to try and show you a few tips about playing pool. Hopefully you become a better player.
