How to Make the “Beat the 8” Beginner Pool Shot

Transcript

“Hi. I’m Andy “”The Magic Man”” Segal. I’m here at Willow Billiard in Hoboken, New Jersey doing some trick shots and pool instruction. So if you’re ready, let’s get started.

Have you ever played Eight Ball where you make a really nice couple of shots and you get a great shot at the eight, you shoot the eight, only to realize that you still have a couple of balls left on the table? Well, if that happens, you lose the game, because you have to make the eight ball last. Well I mean, it happens to me, unfortunately, all the time. But the rule says that you have to make your balls before the eight ball goes in. So we have the eleven ball on the spot, the ten ball is lined up for the edge of the pocket, and the cue ball is right here behind the eight, straight in. So what I’m going to do is I’m going to shoot the eight ball straight in, but I don’t want to lose the game, so I have to make those first.
