Hi, I’m Stephanie from Tomato’s House of Rock and I’m going to show you how to play a B flat minor pentatonic scale. In the key of B flat minor the notes that we’re going to pull out, we’re going to need the 1, the 3, the 4, the 5, and the 7; which is a flatted 7 in a minor scale. That’s going to work out to B flat, D flat, E flat, F, A flat and B flat. This one is a lot of black keys so the fingering, whenever that comes up, if you do have a white key oftentimes, that’s where you’re going to want to do your crossover because it kind of gives you a comfortable place to do that. A good fingering choice for this one would be 1, 2, 3, thumb under to F, and then just 2, 3, back to that B flat again. Coming down again we’re going to have 3, 2, 1 crossover, 3, 2, 1 and that’s how you play a B flat minor pentatonic scale.
