So, in writing verse to a rap song, sometimes you might write verse one, hit a roadblock, say, ‘Where do I go from here’? So, verse two is a step up from verse one. Verse one, a lot of times, is just introductory to who you are.
But verse two is now taking the subject matter and expanding it or giving the flipside of whatever you did in verse one. So, if verse one is about who you are, verse two might be about where you want to go in life or the second part of the story, where you actually talk about the conflict or the person who you’re in conflict with, and what you’re going to do to that person.
The first verse is about who you are and the second verse is about what you’re fighting against, where you want to go in life, the opposite of whatever you did in verse one. So, it’s a step up, a different view on the story, the conflict, the person you’re fighting against. In a nutshell, that is how you create verse two of your rap song.
