Hi. My name is Victor Shell, and I’m going to explain to you what is a clomp.
Mind you, this is not a universal lingo when it comes to stepping. This is just what my step dance company, Players, uses as a form of language to teach our students. All right?
Basically, a clomp is what we use to describe the movement where you’re clapping your hands, and you’re stomping your feet at the same time. It makes it sound like this. Okay?
You got to understand that when you’re doing a clomp, you can’t stomp louder than you’re clapping. You can’t clap louder than you’re stomping. So it can’t be like this, or. The amount of energy that goes into your clap must be equal to the amount of energy that goes into your stomp, so it makes one strong sound like this.
We use it more so in technical dancing than technical stepping, and a demonstration would be something like.
That is what a clomp is.
