5 Break Dance Tips for Beginners

Transcript

What’s up Kid Glyde, once again. I’m here for the beginners to get more advanced. I got some tricks that will help you make your footwork look a little bit more advanced. Like you know what you’re doing. Because, it’s all about confidence baby, trust me. Being a B-Boy, if you don’t have confidence, everybody will see that you’re not confident and they’ll see that you’re just lacking in moves or just lacking in self-esteem. You need to come out hard and present yourself well. Just like in life, straight up.

Alright, I’m going to show you a few things. All this stuff that you’re learning, from me of course, you just got to build it but now we are going to work on different things.

Speed, angles and a little bit of creativity. Here at Dynamic Rockers Academy, we created a concept called the box. So, check it out. Simple moves. Make sure, that if your leg goes forward, right, if this is your seat, whenever you do a forward move, you come back here, any move. Most of the moves you come back here. This is your seat. When I kick my leg forward, I lean back. You created an angle. You created an illusion. Look at that. That doesn’t look cool. That looks better. Come back, my leg kicks out, the rest of my body goes the opposite direction.

It creates an angle. Same thing, when I go forward, my hands go forward and my legs go back. Back to the seat. Other side. See that, angle, instead of, that doesn’t look cool. Just like any art form, we have angle and we have lines. We have to create them.

Simple step. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Simple step. Now if I ad speed to it, now it looks like I know what I’m doing. I look more advanced. So we hit the corners. Opposite direction with the rest of your body. You got to play with the angles. This will make you look a lot better, trust me. Instead of, ain’t going to happen.

Speed, angles, lines and creativity.
