Instructions
- Step 1: Choose ingredients Gorp is basically a trail mix that can be whatever you want it to be. Pick and choose your ingredients, including but not limited to nuts and seeds, granola, dried fruits, candies.
- TIP: Make sure that no one who might share this is allergic to nuts.
- Step 2: Put them in a bowl Place your ingredients into a bowl big enough to hold all your items.
- Step 3: Mix ingredients Stir the items, mixing thoroughly.
- TIP: If you’ll be wearing gloves when you enjoy your gorp, it might be easier to handle if it’s not tiny pieces. Consider binding the mixture together with melted chocolate, peanut butter, or molasses, then toasting in the oven and breaking into nuggets.
- Step 4: Bag it up Ration out a couple handfuls of your mix into re-sealable plastic bags.
- Step 5: Pack and go Now pack your gorp and go!
- FACT: The origin of the word ‘gorp’ is actually unknown, but as early as 1904 it was a verb, meaning to eat greedily.
