Hi. My name is Christine Yen and I’m a baker and decorator at Butter Lane Cupcakes in the East Village. I’ve been baking for as long as I can remember. When I was a little kid I would be in the kitchen making a mess. I took my passion to culinary school, and I graduated with a degree in pastry and baking arts. I really love baking and pastries because it’s a really great creative outlet for me, and I love eating desserts. And I love working at Butter Lane because we use natural and seasonal ingredients, and that really adheres to my philosophy.
