How to Pour Beer

Transcript

How to pour beer. The first and most important thing is to use a clean glass. The technique is actually the same if you’re pouring from a bottle or pouring draft beer. I’m going to illustrate how to pour a draft beer right here.

First you take your glass, and you want it at a 45 degree angle. And you’re just going to put the beer right into it. You’re going to let it raise until it’s about that midway point, and you’re going to tilt it to about a 90 degree angle until it’s full. And you’ll see there that that’s producing somewhat of a head. And that’s what you want in beer. Beer with a head really, it releases the aromatics and it allows you to fully experience the beverage that the brewer intended. So the smell, the aromatics, everything that’s in the beer gets released through that gorgeous head. And there you have a perfectly poured beer.
