How to Make Baked Apples

Instructions

  • Step 1: Core the apples Cut around the apple stems and use a paring knife to cut out the cores. Cut down to within 1/2 inch of the bottoms and scoop out the seeds with a spoon.
  • TIP: You can save time by using an apple corer.
  • Step 2: Add butter, honey, vanilla to cups Split the vanilla bean and scrape out the seeds. Then divide the butter, honey, and vanilla bean seeds evenly between four large muffin pan cups.
  • Step 3: Put raisins in apples Place an apple in each muffin pan cup and stuff each apple with 1 1/2 teaspoons raisins.
  • TIP: You can also sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over the apples to bake in extra sweetness.
  • Step 4: Bake apples Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cover the apples with parchment paper and then with aluminum foil. Transfer the apples to the oven and bake them until they’re tender — about 30 minutes. Serve the apples hot or cold with vanilla ice cream.
  • FACT: More than 7,500 varieties of apples are grown worldwide.
