How to Make a Fondant Penguin

Transcript

Now I’m going to show you how to make a penguin.

I’m gonna take some black fondant, premade. Going to kneed it a little bit and then roll it into a ball. Add some cornstarch if it’s too sticky to your hands. Then I’m going to pinch it at the top to make his head. Just pinch it. Now I’m going to lay him flat, flatten out his body a little bit. And then, at the sides, I’m gonna make his little penguin arms. Pinch and pull them out and just bring them down. I’m gonna set that to the side for a second.

I’m going to take some white fondant, place it in some cornstarch to use as the white on his body. Just take it and then roll it out think. Keep adding it to your cornstarch so that it doesn’t stick. Then I’m going to use a cutting tool. Just cut a nice oval shape with it, the size that’s going to fit your penguin’s body. And then with our water, which is our glue, we put some on his body and then add it.

And now I’m going to take some orange fondant. Going to make his little feet. So I’m going to take two ball size. Just roll them and then flatten them at the bottoms. And then I’m going to use our water as our glue, just add it to the back. And then we’ll take our penguin and we’ll put them under him, like that. And then with our pointed tool gonna make little dents at the front like that.

Now we’re gonna take the orange fondant again and we’re gonna use it as his feet. So we’re just gonna take a little piece and roll it into a triangle shape. And we’re gonna take our glue again, add it to his face. And then we’re gonna take more white fondant, little pieces. Just roll them into balls and then flatten them. We’re gonna take more glue, add it to his face and then attach his eyes.

And then you have a penguin for your Christmas cake.
