How to Make a Fondant Shark for a Beach Theme Cake

Transcript

Now I’m going to show you how to make a shark. You’re going to take some grey fondant which you can make by buying some black fondant and some white fondant and mixing them together. Now I’m going to take our grey fondant and I’m going to roll it to a tip. The first side is going to be round and the bottom is going to be a tip, so we can make his fins.

Now for the fins, you’re just going to pinch the ends to make a V shape. Then you’re going to do the same at the top of his body, so you can make his scary fin at the top. Then you’re going to do the same at the sides. Just take some fondant and put it into a tip like so. Then what I’m going to do is take a tool, which you can find them at a craft store or a cake supply store, with the tip and I’m going to make his mouth. I’m just going to go all the way around the front of his face. Then what I’m going to do is take a small ball tool and I’m going to make dents in the front for his eyes. Then I’m going to take our water, which is our glue, and I’m going to put it into the dents. Then I’m going to take some white pearls and just drop them in the dents we just made.

Then I’m going to take a blue, edible marker and I’m going to make blue for his eyes, like so. And for these you can let them dry over night, before you put them onto your ready cake. Then what I’m going to do is use that same tool with the nice pointy tip and I’m just going to put some marks into his back and then maybe on top of his fin also.
And that’s how you make a shark for your sea cake or any other type of cake you would like.
