How to Disassemble a Walther P99

Transcript

Today we’re going to talk about how to disassemble a Walther P99, nine millimeter pistol. Before you disassemble the gun the first thing you want to do is make sure the gun is safe and empty. First you remove the magazine from the gun and rack the slide back and lock it into place. From there you’re going to do a visual and physical inspection of the gun to make sure it is empty. I like to stick my finger in here, check the barrel, make sure everything is empty.

Once you have that, a few times, make sure it’s empty. From there, disassemble the gun. You’re going to grab the rear of the gun with the webbing of your hand here and draw the slide back just a little bit. There’s a lever here on both sides that you’re going to pull out. From there, you have to press the trigger and the slide is going to slide forward. Remove the slide from the gun.

The frame of the gun has [inaudible 00:01:00] remove, so you can put that down. The slide from here you’re going to compress the spring forward just a little bit and release it and pull it out. Remove the spring. The only thing left you have here is the barrel, barrel just pops right out. You push through from the rejection port, remove the barrel. Your slide has no more remove. That is how to disassemble a Walther P99.
