How to Disassemble a Glock 23

Transcript

Today we’re going to go over how to disassemble the Glock 23.

This is the Glock 23. It’s a 40 caliber Glock hand gun. When you’re going to disassemble it the first thing you want to do is make sure the gun is safe and empty.

The first thing you do is you remove the magazine by pressing the magazine ejector. Remove the magazine from the gun. You want to rack it back and inspect the gun. Visually and physically make sure the gun is not loaded. Once you’ve done that, rack the slide several times. Make sure the gun is empty, rule number one.

Once you dissemble the gun, what you want to do is you want to grab the gun with the web of your hand here and pull back on the slide gently so this notch right here is in line with this lever. Once you do that you’re taking the pressure off, you pull this lever down on both sides with your hands and release. Once you pull the trigger, the slide will slide forward and you remove the slide from the gun.

From here, the spring. What you do is you grab the slide with one hand and just compress the spring a little bit, unhinge it from the little notch that it sits in, remove the spring from the gun.

The only other moving part that you have now to dissemble is the barrel. Push up gently, barrel comes right out.

These are all the parts for the Glock. You have the body or the frame of the gun, you have your barrel, your slide, and your spring.
These are all the components and this was how to disassemble a Glock 32.
