Today we’re going to discuss an overview of the Glock 23 40 caliber pistol.
This is the Glock 23. It’s a 40 caliber pistol. It’s one of the most popular pistols out there for law enforcement use. It’s an automatic. The gun will hold 13 rounds in the magazine plus an additional one in the chamber, holding 14 rounds total.
It’s a very accurate, very dependable gun. It has very few moving parts in it. It’s a Palmer frame with a slide.
The gun does not have an exterior safety. What it has is what’s called a trigger safety. If you look on the trigger here, in the middle of the trigger there’s a little, little safety protruding out from the middle. So what that does is when you put your finger on the trigger you automatically depress it. It allows you to pull the trigger but it will not allow the trigger to be pulled accidentally. So if it gets caught on something or if in an accidental hit, if you hit the side of it, it will not let that trigger pull.
The internal safety, it’s very good, it’s very safe. But yet it doesn’t slow you down like an external safety would for law enforcement purposes when you’re drawing and firing very fast.
Other than that, the gun is very easy to clean. It comes apart quickly and it requires very little maintenance and it’s very dependable and will last you a lifetime of shooting.
