How to Tell If Your Flirting Is Working

Transcript

Rachael DeAlto: They want to know how can you tell if your flirting’s working.

Hunt Ethridge: I do want to know.

Rachael: I would want to know, too. I think that the number one thing that you can look for to see if it’s working is the body language.

Hunt: Absolutely, without a doubt.

Rachael: That says everything.

Hunt: Because the body will tell even if the words aren’t.

Rachael: Yeah. So, if they’re leaning into you, if they’re paying attention, if they’re making eye contact, if they’re touching you, if their feet are pointed towards you, these are all things that say that this person is interested in me. So, that’s telling me…

Hunt: What about I’ve seen some girls twirling their hair? Is that…

Rachael: They’re twirling the hair. Yeah, it’s called grooming.

Hunt: Okay.

Rachael: And guys do it, too. So they’ll primp and preen themselves, and guys’ll pull their hair back. Or, the girls will pull their hair back. Or, they’ll touch their neck, button up a little bit. These are all things that say, hey, wait a second this person’s interested in me. My flirting is working. So, the body language is really where it’s at in terms of that. I mean, oherwise, they ask for a number.

Hunt: Well, yeah…

Rachael: …Which is a pretty good indication it works…

Hunt: That definitely works, too. But, one of the things that I work with, too, is the reason they first start asking questions about you. If they’re interested in you…

Rachael: Yeah…

Hunt: …they want to find…

Rachael: …to know.

Hunt: …things out about you. Even if it’s simple questions. Because I’ve had people confuse extroverts with people…

Rachael: With flirting…

Hunt: …that are interested. Yeah, exactly. Like, “We talked for like five minutes. She was answering all my questions and stuff. She really liked me.” I say, “Oh, how many questions did she ask you?”

Rachael: None.

Hunt: Right. Yeah, none. So, when you have a girl that starts asking you questions, or, you know, you are a girl and the guy starts asking you about yourself, immediately you know that there’s at least some interest level there.

Rachael: Something.

Hunt: So, maybe that gives you the time to start adding a little…

Rachael: What are..

Hunt: …bit of layer to your flirting…

Rachael: …What are we doing here? What’s going on with the touch…

Hunt: Alright, this is nice…

Rachael: I like it. You know, there’s one thing that I do want to say to the guys out there. Because you have a little obstacle that seems to occur with men and observing whether or not flirting’s working. Sometimes they think everybody’s interested in them.

Hunt: Yeah, yeah.

Rachael: It doesn’t even matter if they’re extroverted. It means if anybody’s talking to them that they’re interested.

Hunt: Hello means I want to sleep with you in a lot of guys’ heads.

Rachael: It’s not like that, and that’s where it goes back to pay attention to body language. Put some testers out there. Be like, “I would love to continue this conversation, or we should do this again sometime.”

Hunt: Oh, am I keeping you from your friends?

Rachael: Oh, no no no no. I’m having a great time.

Hunt: Okay, good, good, good.

Rachael: Yeah. So, when you get that positive affirmation back that’ll let you know that it’s not just a platonic conversation…

Hunt: Yeah, but like she says, always check out the body language. The body never lies.

Rachael: Amen.
