How to Do the Double Bridge Card Flourish

Transcript

Hi, I’m Mike Patrick, and this is how to do a double bridge with your shuffle. You do this. Standard shuffle; do you standard bridge; and, then, you can do a double, like this, using just one hand. People are very impressed when you can just bridge with one hand. They seem to think it’s very difficult, but it’s really, pretty much the same if you can do a normal bridge. What you’re going to do is your going to start, like, just like a normal ripple shuffle, like this, except your going to shuffle the cards askew from each other.

So, the right hand packet, in my case, is moving forward for more than half of the length of the cards. You can see that it’s about a third, maybe. I bridge the cards like normal. I just place my thumb at the connecting point and the cards should bridge just fine. Now, you have the staggered packet. So, you have half the cards here, half the cards here. You’re going to grip with your hand on the sides of it, and do the same way like you’re doing a bridge and let go.

So, it’s the same thing as doing a normal bridge except that you’re doing it with one hand. You can also bridge the cards, like this, with one hand. You can do both of them if you’re doing a farrow shuffle, but this, is how to do the double bridge. You shuffle the cards like this, allow them to in to each other, and, then, you just grip over here, and you allow them to spring in to each other. And, that is how you do the single, double bridge.
