How to Throw Cards

Transcript

Mike Patrick: Hi. I’m Mike Patrick, and today I’m going to teach you how to throw playing cards. The grip I use most often is, I use two grips. One of which is like this. I use these two fingers, the index and middle finger, and it clips the outer right hand corner, and the lower right hand corner touches the palm of your hand. And it’s not like a throwing action, it’s mostly wrist.

So when you first do this you should use just your wrist to get used to tossing cards like this. You’ll get a little bit more accurate over time, but use mostly your wrist at first. When you get good at that you can use your whole arm, and you can throw much further and much harder.

The other grip that I use, and this one I think I get a little bit more accuracy with this grip. So what I do is I clip the outer left hand corner of this and this corner goes into the hand, so now the card is held more in a parallel action. Do the exact same kind of action, a tossing straight forward and you should be able to get a lot of distance with just the throwing action. Again, I can’t stress this enough, use just your wrist when you start. Don’t use your arm. Once you get comfortable with your wrist and once you get relatively accurate, throw a few decks of cards have a little basket, it’s easier to pick them up out of, once you get used to that you can throw cards very rapidly and terrorize your friends.

That’s how to throw a deck of cards or individual cards. I’m Mike Patrick and don’t take out too many eyes.
