How to Do the Giant Fan Card Flourish

Transcript

Hello, I’m Mike Patrick, and I’m going to show you how to do the giant, or double tiered fan. First, you need to do a faro shuffle. I have a video on how to do this. You’re going to place the cards like this, and you’re going to get into a pharaoh. The only condition for this faro is it’s not perfect. You’re going to have a few less cards on the top portion. And you want to ensure that all the cards go in between the packets.

For example, you don’t want this to happen, because these cards will fall out during the fan. And if you do faroating correctly, I’ll do that really quickly. You can simply adjust by moving this packet down. If you have too many cards though, you’re going to get this kind of thing, which doesn’t look very good. Try to make it look as even as possible.

So you take the cards and faro them together, trying to get as even as you can, getting the most number of cards you can fit in between them. This one looks pretty great. And you simply fan the cards. Your options of closing are the following. When you grab this, you can move forward. My hand is sort of riding along this edge. And you move forward and you can strip them out like this.

In speed, it would look like this. You fan the cards, you get your faro quick. Boom. Do the fan, and then you strip them out like so. The other method, and one that I use pretty often, is to finish with a bridge shuffle. So when you shuffle them like this, you get your fan, you close it one handed, and then you can simply bridge the cards for the close. And that is how you do a giant fan.
